Some want attention from men.
Some want attention and appreciation from women.
Some do it to feel good for themselves and no-one else.
Some men think that women who dress in a revealing way are 'up for it'. |

And that's the end of that thread hehe |

"Do you think women dress more revealing to get more attention "
I think that's what men think, and that's where the unwanted attention thing comes from.
"Look at her lads, she's gagging for it"
I wear clothes that I feel good in at the time. I wear them for me.

Attention maybe, but good attention like polite compliments.
Heckling, wolf whistles or assuming she is up for it based on the way she dresses would make me put you in the caveman category |

Some do. Some don't.
Many women (and men) dress for reasons other than (sexual) attention from strangers.
It's best not to make assumptions and to treat someone with the respect you would want to be treated (or you would want your sister, mother, or daughter to be treated) |

"Do you think women dress more revealing to get more attention "
Most women choose to dress the way they want just because they want to, not for the attention women.
By the same token, why do men chose to have a photo of a woman performing with them on a male single profile?
We know that it isn't against the rules, but why is it needed?

I do.
If I want to drive him nuts in a meeting I will be sending him a pic of me in my lingerie, a fleece jumper is not quite the same.
In day to day life if I want attention I will dress up if not I dress down, it purely depends on what mood I am in at the time. I know what I like to wear to gain attention when I am out. |

I know from long experience that certain clothing will attract more obvious attention. I also know that for *some* men any kind of clothing can be interpreted as inviting attention. It's true too that my body shape in certain clothes attracts attention even know f nothing is on show.
I suppose the answer as it so often is, is that some women dress to get attention and some don't. |

"As long as you are happy in what you dress in that’s what matters of others like it all well and good if not then tough !"
We had a 'crazy dress up day' at work where we had to wear the weirdest thing we could think of. No-one thought my outfit was weird (for me)! |

"Definately some do.
I'd rather be comfy in a cosy jumper myself. Kinda sums me up to.
Currently sat in a cardigan and shawl I'm sexy as fuck lol "
The good thing about a cardigan is that you can undo a few buttons and it becomes very revealing. |

That is one distinct advantage of cardigans yes |

I actually wear less revealing clothes when I go out than I’d like to, because I know if I where the clothes I want to I’ll get too much attention of the wrong sort. And if I get assaulted everyone will say I was “asking for it”. |

Yes! Everything we girlies do is for the benefit of and attention of the men folk!
I think most women wear whatever the fuck they feel good in and probably don't give it much thought. Or at least I do.

The same can be said for a zipped hoody or cardigan. |

Definitely.
I have a certain aesthetic which leans conservative anyway, but I do spare some thought for "will people think I'm asking for it if I dress a certain way" |

For me, it depends on my mood, but sometimes I’d love to be able to go out in something really short, tight, and low-cut and know I’ll be safe. |

I rarely have those moods but I'd love to have the freedom to. At the moment there's no way. |

"Do men not wear clothes for attention then?"
Men do at times, I did a gig in 3 piece suit, shirt n' tie, so very heavy rock. The band thought I'd lost it! I had more people come up & chat to me afterwards than any gig before!
It was a talking point & it broke the ice, did the trick & got attention.
Next time I played there I borrowed & wore waders & fishing boots!

Absolutely! Half the reason I love clubs is that for me it's a safe place to dress as provocatively as I'd like but without the judgement and unwanted touching I would get if I dressed like that in a nightclub or something. |

This is quite interesting for a TV. I choose and wear clothes based what I think suits me and that I like to wear but I do wear what I know draws attention at the appropriate times. If and when I'm out and about I tend to dress down so as not to draw attention. |

That is something that appeals to me about clubs, but honestly I’m still not sure I’d feel safe going alone. |

Oh I’ve had loads of offers, mainly from men who want cheaper entry! But no-one I’d trust to look after me. |

I wear what I think I'll look good in and what is appropriate for the occasion.
If I want to wear a short skirt on a night out to show off my legs then I will because I like the fact they look strong from working on them. If I get a compliment that's fair enough. If not it's no biggy as long as I've been confident in how I looked. |

In a club I trust I can dress in a way that it's not safe to in the "real world" |

Did anybody imply that you were more likely to have sex with them because of what you were wearing or trot out that phrase I heard so often as a younger woman "you'll get yourself in trouble going out dressed like that"?
I think it's sexual attention the op is aiming at.

I only know clubs I've been to but my local club does some social only events. You can make some friends that way and then go to other events together . |

Sad reality that women still need to think this way, isn't it. |

Nothing to do with the sex, although it was implied I was a kinky sod when I wore waders & fishing boots! |
