Clarkson Holidays flew BAC 111 Court Line to Gerona and stayed at Malgrat De Mar. 1970/71.
Holiday firm went bust in 1974 despite increasing passenger numbers. Airline shortly after.
The three day week and the oil crisis killed them off like Covid is doing now. Contributing factor was their rapid expansion over 4-5 years. |

I was lucky growing up as my parents were quite well off. They took us abroad every year.
The first one I remember the best was skiing in Italy.
We went to Sauze d'Oulx.
One day there was gonna be a downhill with professionals so we went to watch but it called off due to bad ice.
So myself and my Dad went to the bar at the top of the mountain and drank several gluhwein's and skied down the course pissed |

I went to Jersey on honeymoon in 1986, not sure that’s strictly aboard tho then a few years later we went to a small Greek island which was amazing, my first naturist beach experience too, loved it |

My parents were both teachers (long summer holidays) so we always spent five weeks in a small caravan in France, Spain or Italy
The only year I didn't go on holiday I was 2 as my brother had just been born. |

I bet you have lovely memories?
I always took my boys to France, towed our caravan, also to Spain. Great holidays, although on one drive down they said “Dad, why can’t we go on a plane for a proper holiday like our friends”. They had great holidays. I miss those days. |

1989, went to Corfu with a friend and he spent the whole time whingeing about the crappy music. just about the time euro-electro-house stuff was happening. I hated that shit too but could ignore it |

If you are 58 you would have been 7 in 1969 and should not have been looking. |

Went to Brittany in France for two weeks when I was 2, had my 3rd birthday party on the ferry on the way home.
I remember the blue seats of the ferry!! Random I know
Apparently parents were asking for directions to somewhere and the man kept saying wee, I tugged at my dads trouser leg and said “that man needs to go to wee” |

My Nan and gramp used to visit Germany for the beer festival and my mum and myself went one year. We all went by coach.
I was fairly young too. I can’t remember much about it apart from hearing the birdie song a lot and sleeping on the coach. |

Didn't go abroad as a child, we had our holidays in the UK. First time I went on a plane I was 20. Went to Magaluf with my best friend at the time. We met two guys out there who were also best friends and spent a fair amount of time with them.
One is now my ex husband and the other is Godfather to my eldest |

The first time I went abroad was to live in Canada, the joys of being an RAF brat.
My first holiday abroad was an 18-30 to Ibiza with the lads from work when I was a babyfaced apprentice....now in my 40s I can't imagine anything worse |

Wales 1976 family camping trip.
Wow couldn't believe how different it was the language
the sun and the heat PHEW!
all the shop's had the same food stuff
But spelt with lot's of L's and Y's .
A wonderful magical place, still not like it today been ruined by commercialism and Brits on tour.
