If any of you want to knock what the OP has said, that's perhaps the first clue as to why you haven't had much success. Some of us will be more successful than others, just as in life or at any party.
How does reading the profile help? ENORMOUSLY! It works both ways. I may find the lady is not my cup of tea but I would certainly need to see if I am hers in the first place. Being short, it saves me a lot of time on wasted effort.

Good punctuation and grammar is hot, try and entice me with words.
Don’t get upset if I don’t reply, I’m probably not feeling it.
