Anybody on these and suffer side effects.
Only started on Monday so I've only taken 4. Mouth still feels like I'm chewing a tin dipped in salt so obviously not working yet. Bit of a headache and haven't been able to go far from the bathroom all day but the nausea grounded me for the night
Is this normal for starting these? Does it last long? Anyone know? |

"The more common side effects of lansoprazole can include:
diarrhea.
stomach pain.
nausea.
constipation.
headache."
All Dr said was "might get the squits".
I am struggling a bit ... I'll crack out the ginger snaps. |

Half an hour before any food or beverage ( milk included ) and have some gaviscon to relieve immediate discomfort. Honey helps the throat, better than any lozenges ... and patient . Info ( sorry had to put a space in there ) to look up reflux diet sheet. In short anything worth living is banned lol
You need to give your gp a ring ( they do talk to you on the same day contrary to popular opinion ) if not better in a week.
Get well soon |

Ty all.
I'm starting to think it might not even be reflux. The only symptom is the salty / metallic taste in my mouth.
I've a consultation with Dr next week so I'll be discussing it then.
Thanks again. |

You should stop taking them until you've spoken to your doctor - ranitidine is a good temporary substitute, or gaviscon. Are you drinking enough water through the day? Lansoprazole can cause dehydration which will make your saliva salty as it's more concentrated. |

I've taken them for years without any known side effects
However, I was initially given omeprazole and they gave me the galloping wild shites for about a fortnight |
