"In the very rare occasions we've accommodated its been in our bed. "
Does it 'add' anything or is it just a matter of convenience?
I only ask as on the rare occasion I meet with my OH, I prefer to accom in the spare room, whereas he's happy to use either - and thinks 'our' bed adds to the fun
I like 'our' space and 'play' space separated though
I'm a bugger for compartmentalising my life |

It was just convenience really.
We were entertained by a couple once who put a double quilt on the living room floor which struck us as a good idea and one we'd try if we ever decide to accommodate again.
We compartmentalise too, just differently to you. Neither of us is wrong |

We do this and it's great because along with sofa and armchairs, it allows for a variety of heights to get creative... |

"Why wouldn’t they entertain in the marital bed, they can change the sheets and mop up afterwards."
I spend a fortune on lovely bedding and I have an extra thick and luxurious dark brown quilted throw with matching pillow cases. This set becomes the top layer for any spillages which can be stripped and washed separately. |

Yes, it also kept everything in one room which we understood from their point of view |

"Do you entertain in the 'marital bed' or do you have a 'guest' room? "
We have entertained in our own room at our old home but since mo hung house we now have the luxury of a 2rd floor with 2 bedrooms, a large landing and separate bathroom, that we use when we have 'visitors'. |

We entertain in the marital bed - song and dance numbers, showgirls, the lot. We have a pit at the side for the orchestra. "
I'd love that |

So far we've stuck to sofas, the bed in spare room or a blanket on the floor, but if and when we ever get round to doing it again, spare room isn't an option anymore. We haven't really ruled out using our bed, so you never know. |
