Christmas cake obviously at this time of year, but I’m partial to the old fashioned fruit loaf / cake or saucepan cake

Don’t forget the mince pies, rich mince and butter puff pastry are the best .... so bad, they are good

Ooh, I do like a good Dundee cake.

I haven't made Christmas cakes for years...used to make them in September and feed them regularly with brandy right up until Christmas. You probably didn't want to drive after eating a slice

Saucepan cake is basically cooked / boiled on the hob, then fold in flour / egg and then place in the oven for 30 minutes and it’s done

It is a round cake. I don't like anything Mr Kipling.

Occasionally one will be a little dry but normally they are squishy with all the sultanas.

"The old farmhouse type fruit cake, with a sprinkling of sugar on top and large moist sultanas in the cake mix "

A traditional favourite for sure

"Erm... me.

No brainer

I also thought you meant people , but that’s the sort of fruitcake I like anyway

Now why would you possibly have thought that? Especially when there are so many different kinds of fruticake available "

Indeed, and you’d never do that

norwich

It's me !!

I spend ages prancing around like a fairy in a dress, wear shoes that hurt my feet and make me walk like Bambi on ice, then I take hours to put my make up on to look like Ronald McDonald .

I'm definitely a fruit cake xx
