Yet another accusation of police racism

Iceland, but Aldi is closer.. |
Yet again the news is reporting police racism in London following a car stop in South London.
A driver was stopped for driving erratically and was subsequently found to be over the legal drink limit.
The passenger refused to co-operate with the police and required 5 officers to restrain her to allow them to safely search her.
So now commences the trial by media, mobile phone footage and the automatic assumption that all police are racist.
But hang on, the driver was d*unk and breaking the law.
The police were within their right to question the passenger and even search her.
So surely, if the passenger had complied instead of kicking off, she wouldn't have ended up on the ground being restrained by multiple officers.
Why is it even media now will assume racism is the motive when the facts outweigh the claims?

That’s slightly different narrative from what I read
She had recently come out of hospital and an operation her , stitches hadn’t even healed and 7-8 police officers on 1 woman?? Heavy handed if not OTT

Are women not considered a threat? |

I've seen, first hand, one 5'4" slightly built WPC restrain a 6'4 bloke built three times my width.
How many coppers did it take to restrain this woman again? I haven't read the news... |

If you have done nothing wrong, why resist arrest?
To me, and this is just me, the cry of racism is beginning to feeling like a “get out of jail” card.
I suspect the amount of police officers says more about the lady than them.
Still I wasn’t there and journalists, and embellishments never go hand in hand... do they? |

Exactly this......she was drink driving. If she had killed someone while under the influence would it still be the polices fault for not stopping her |

She wasn’t the driver, she was getting a lift home , also after being beaten by 7-8 police officers, her stitches bleeding, she was then stripped naked in front of male officers and left with no dignity in the police station, must be standard police policy ??? |

And if anyone cared to think why they use multiple officers to arrest someone who is resisting arrest then you would understand that they do this for the safety of the officers AND the subject being arrested.
Do you think they should go in one on one so its a fair fight and the subject walks free because they got the better of the officer when they have resisted arrest and possibly broken the law?
Get real....she knew she had got stitches where the police had no clue about it and if she had been civil instead of kicking off then none of this would have happened.
Multiple officers are used because it puts all concerned at less risk in instances like this and they have to make a judgement call in the moment, everyone else reading a story which is only an opinion of the incident don't know what the situation was like and are in little position to judge.

I got stopped by the police on Saturday night and they lied to my face and wasted my time. I have been stopped by the police before whilst driving and they lied then. No charges no tickets, initially accused of drink driving, passed the breathalyser the first time and they did not bother Saturday.
I made a formal complaint the first time. Every time I have an interaction with the police I just get depressed about the state of the police. In a different life I worked with the police and I believe in there being a police force. But I have very little faith in current policing. |

Perhaps if you are getting pulled over regularly, you may be driving in a way that roused suspicion.
Police work on instinct on who to pull over; the way the car is driven, the driver seems to be avoiding being near the police, the driver is watching the police.
It's subtle clues that will cause the police to target you.
Don't take it personally, they are doing a job to ensure that the general public are safe from horrible scrotes.. |

They should work on evidence surely and not instinct.. |

I very rarely, if ever comment on racism threads; it only feeds the trolls and racists and one gets fed up of hearing about this elusive ‘race card’, even though I’ve never seen one myself. Where can I get it, so I can use it? I’m obviously missing out!
There’s a brilliant book, ‘Why I no longer talk to white people about race’
Let’s turn the scenario around…… You’re constantly stopped and harassed. Not because you’ve done anything wrong but because someone; randomly decides you look dodgy.
Apparently, now you have an ‘attitude’.
It takes 7 (seven) police men to subdue you. something I have never heard of or seen happening to white females; even on the most violent of protests; Extinct rebellion anyone.
You’re stripped naked in front of male officers, again, not something I’ve ever heard happen to white females; even violent ones!
There was a thread about Fairy tale of New York and the usage of the word faggot, which can mean meat in gravy or a derogatory term. It was equated to the use of the word nigger because let’s face it; there are no other derogatory terms to use as examples.
Because of course the use of any term against a certain religion would be abuse but nigger is fine! And should any black person object, then …….they use it in Rap, so it must be ok. Or, you’re just being touchy, you know we don’t mean you; it’s not personal.
We’re in the middle of a fucking pandemic and yet, there is only one race that is constantly denigrated on this site. We’re all supposed to be here for respite. I’m sure that bad things are also happening to Europeans, Chinese, South Americans etc.
Why don’t we share the love and highlight those incidents too or is it only incidents of racism against black people that racists respond to, so that they can refute them?
Just asking for a friend |

Maybe she kicked off as she was being dragged out the car by her hair? I’m bald ????? so never experienced a police stop like that |
