More Mink Slaughtered

Why wouldn't the pelts be kept as inventory and continued to be sold for false eyelashes / fashion accessory trimmings, oil for various things etc until stocks run out and manufacturers turn to less exploitative options
Hopefully fur farms will banned going forwards - the Netherlands was due to stop fur farms in 2024 i think, so its just happening a few years earlier.
Poland is viting, or has voted to also ban mink, fox and raccoon dog farming for fur purposes.
It can only be a good thing. I am happy that this has happened. No animal should exist like this. |

Mink are interesting animals. I have always wanted to own one as they are fantastic hunters and so would be great for rabbit. And they are loyal and actually 'love' you if you can tame one.
But conversely I have also shot mink before. They are a menace to our eco system hence why you are not allowed to own them here.
I see no contradiction. Animals serve a purpose and if they are a problem then you kill them. |

There has been an update on this story. Hundreds of thousands of mink were buried in shallow graves so shallow that as they became bloated with gas they rise like zombie mink. It seems that this rotting mess has contaminated the local drinking water.. is there no end to the damage that these mink cause.. |

Setting aside the morality of the fur trade, Mink are bloodthirsty, vile critters, and terrible for the environment, when released into an ecosystem devoid of natural predators.
Where I live in Surrey they are destroying ground nesting bird populations, water birds, water voles, and fish stocks.
Worst of all they attack and kill hibernating hedgehogs. They are an absolute menace! |

I agree even to just bring them into this country was a terrible mistake for the reasons why they were here for and then being released by activists from start to finish it was a disaster all done by humans. |
