I chose not to return to the UK to reconcile with my dad just before he died. I often think if that was the right decision, it was then, it probably is now but would be a fibber if I said I didn't wonder.

"A few things but no point pondering about the decisions I have made but remember at the time it was the right decision..
I'd agree to that "
SHould you not cover up a bit more before making a serious statement?;-) |

I often wonder what if...... but I would never change anything.
I am who I am because of the mistakes I've made, the people I've loved and lost, and the paths that seemed right at the time. Without any of that, I wouldn't have what I have now. But still I wonder!! |

"and really should have gone to university Never ... NEVER too late "
I'm too old to live the life of a student, it'd kill me and I prefer the more mature lady |

"Bigger and better tattoos early on and really should have gone to university "
And really it is never too late. I started with the Open University last year. Life experience makes it so much more fun |

Seems like for most people any regrets or feelings they could have done better are focussing on either partners or jobs. Just curious if there are other things that could have been done differently? |

I have loads of regrets about things I could have changed. Yes, I may have been a different person if I had changed them, but that may have been a good thing!
I refuse to believe that there are those that have absolutely nothing they would change.... |

There is a difference between "strong feeling of having missed out on something big time" and then the sense of gentle wondering/ musing about "what if I had done this differently"? |

Yep! So true, but they are still regrets and if you regret doing something, you wouldn't do it with hindsight.. Yes, it makes us what we are, but as I said, we could have become even better people (Yes, or worse) and had a better life?
But, what do I know, I am just a bloke!! lol |

Not sure really, yes there are certainthings where you can look back and say what if..
but most things like meeting partners, making friends etc sometimes happen cos of circumstance and where you were at a certain time or a specific event..
and most of them are not 'planned or scripted', the film closing doors? with Gwyneth Paltrow springs to mind.. |

I'd have taken notice of my (usually hyperchondriac) brother when he told me he thought someone I loved dearly wasn't well. Who knows what would have happened if I did?
Sometimes it's best not to look back; it's painful. |

"I have one huge regret but I have to live with that.. I think about that regret everyday but I can't think about it or it will eat me alive so best let it go and move on.. "
I know that feeling |

" Yes, some things should be left alone - if they cause pain and unnecessary suffering that serves no purpose as you cannot change the past. I can empathise with you very much.

"id not get married! "
Same here, worst decision of my life by a country mile, especially as I don't even believe in marriage and only agreed to it after lots if pressure and for a 'quiet life', oh the irony! ;( What an idiot I am |
