It really does depend on a number of factors...
Sometimes I would like to have lots of foreplay and other times not so much but then quite often I just need to be fucked and I am quite happy with him spitting on his cock to just start penetration.
On other times the build up, the tease, the flirtation, the sexy kisses which leave your heart racing before any foreplay has begun is what I want and need.
And all of the above can be whether I am having sex with my boyfriend or having sex with another person.

This. And bearing in mind that only around 1/3 of women can orgasm from penetration alone, it doesn’t make sense to think of that as ‘sex’ and everything else as foreplay. It is very androcentric
