This exactly and this weeks episode was the 1st time in season 2 where he's used the force.

Star trek discovery is a bit repetative as well this season. Bit of drama, Michael disobeys orders, lot of people sigh, the end.

Stay off the internet until you've caught up! Unlubricated bareback spoilers *everywhere*!

If, in 1985, someone had asked me if I was a Star Wars fan, I'd have said yes.

If they'd asked me in 2005, I'd have said "Fuck *no*."

The Mandalorian has got me tentatively saying yes again.

Not at all. There are references and a few characters from the wider universe but you don’t need to know the history/future to enjoy the show. I’d say as a stand alone show it’s great.

It'd say that of the eleven movies, five or six of them are pretty crap.

You don't have to be an existing fan. Existing fans will get more out of it, of course, but The Baby Yoda Show does seem to be a popular jumping-on point for newcomers.

I take it back, it's going to be longer than that.

Yesterday, it was announced on the official Star Wars website that The Book of Boba Fett is in production now and will premiere in December 2021.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian will start production *next* year. I'd say that means we'll be waiting until 2022 for that.

Loving the show - cinematography is fantastic, great story telling. However, is it not a bit too slow? My only criticism otherwise it’s on point.

Too slow how?

Its an 8 episode per season show, one with great character and world building. It, like the majority of shows has a filler episode or two to dedicate towards side character development or world development.

The ice planet episode of season 2 was a perfect example of this. Quite often a filler episode will move the story along toward a crucial plot point - it makes great story telling and keeps shows well paced most of the time.

The best thing about the Mandalorian is that it brings together all important Star wars movies and shows.

The prequels and the originals.

It helps set up the sequels.

It brings in characters from the animated shows, Clone Wars and Rebels.

If the quality remains the same across the board of future shows and movies with Mando as a basis (and not the sequels) the future looks promising.

They just need to have Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni in Charge of all things star wars and we are good!

The Mandalorian is set five years after Return of the Jedi, and twenty-five years before The Force Awakens.

Good, Favreau is an amazing film maker. And Filloni just knows his Star Wars, he understands it on multiple levels and delivers regardless of your preferred era, in a way to make them about star wars and not prequels vs originals.

You’ll like they are also involved in two series spinning off from Mandalorian and set in the same time line - Rangers of the New Republic and Ahsoka

If it continues in the same vein and quality, a lot to look forward to

One thing I still wanted to see was a Jedi on Jedi fight. I think we will get that in Ashoka or maybe a Jedi on Sith.

Anything with Ashoka needs to have Filoni attached, somebody else would destroy her character. By far one of the best characters in any star wars movie, show, or spin off.
