"I wanted a red escort. I never got one
You dreamer Alder!"
They were amazing, I had a crush on a girl at college who had one. She had everything including the best car. I got an ancient fiesta. |

You say back in the day. For me as a 16 year old I was in love with the DB5. The curves the style. And driven by James Bond how could you not love it.
My modern day lust is still an Audi R8. Although my next car is a Kia Sorrento lol. Panoramic roof and tow bar. Feeling the Dad car ha ha |

"Renault 5 GTT.
First car was a campus prima, then bought another a couple of years later, and finally got my GTT at 21."
Oh and if I had the money to properly look after and maintain one, I would buy another in a heart beat. |

Brother in law had a cool Lancia 2.0l Coupe. Made the right noises & went like stink.
Loved it, then watched it fall apart around him
Dream car was an ISO Grifo & there was actually one being used daily where I grew up in South London.

"XR3i in Red
Or a Peugeot 205 GTi in Black. Had to be the 1.9 though "
Love the pug! I had the 1.9 and it was amazing. Just had to be brave going into a corner. Lift of the accelerator pedal and it would have you into the nearest hedge. Brilliant little beasts they were. |

Especially if you got a proper one with the 3 litre V6 in the back.
I just wanted a Kawasaki 1000RX |

I made a terrible mistake back in about 82 when looking for a used car, I didn’t commute so my cars were always toys.
79 Rover SD1 V8S auto or
74 BMW 3.0Csi manual
I got the Rover, oh to be young & stupid!

"Opel Manta or mark 1 Celica, I owned a mark 1 Celica as my first car, crashed it within three months"
I had a Manta GTE when I was 20, had dreams about swapping it in for a Skyline or Intergrale. Didn't happen though. |

Now bearing in mind where we live I look at VW Touareg W12’s
0-60 in 5 & a bit 0-100 in 13 limited to 155 but unlimited closer to 170.
All wrapped up in a two tonne 4x4
Just a shame they only made 500 & all left hookers or one would be outside the house on the drive!

"Renault Clio Williams.
I do like a car with a confident bonnet bulge!"
I had the phase 1 19 16valve as a company car, mate had the Cavalier 2.0 Gsi 150. The Renault ran rings around it handling wise, the Vauxhall was understeer city everywhere under power!

Had a black JPS special Ford Capri. Great car. Had it 3 weeks before it got nicked. Police found it wrecked in a field 150 miles away!!
Next car was white Cosworth. Some twat in a lorry hit it from behind a it was a write off.
Next was a silver XR3i. Bit of a rust bucket. Got rid of it.
Had different mid range cars ever since. Nothing spectacular.
Current car that I've had for 4 years is a Toyota Corolla Gli. Quite old but still goes well, it will soon qualify for classic car status. Not a spot of rust anywhere and just passed Mot with flying colours. |

"No one called out the Astra GTE yet? Still got mine rusting away "
I wanted one of these a nd had the funds to buy, however my insurance would have gone from £175 to 2 grand, so I couldn't afford it
Roll the clock forward 12 years and I had a Golf GTI as a company car for four months
Every morning I'd open the curtains expecting it to have been nicked
When my new company car arrived, a mate bought it from the firm I worked for and two weeks later it was stolen and found burnt out |

Mark 1 escort Mexico or an RS 2000 mark 2. I've been seriously toying with the idea of a 2.8 or 3.0L S Capri lately. You gotta love classic Fords aye... |
