There's been some negativity on the forum it's not as good as it was etc etc.

But today got me thinking, the forum is amazing. Where else can I talk utter dribble, have a giggle or talk openly about subjects I normally can't? I've also gotten support over domestic abuse and more recently my miscarriage during lockdown.

It's easy to knock this place but I appreciate the fora. What is it you like about the forum ?

That there’s a place for all the random bollocks that comes into my head, before I used to write these things down on post it notes and give them to people, they would then mail them to me with a ‘This’ or a thumbs up, that’s the nearest I could get to a reply and quote.

I don't get the almost obsession that the forum should be happy clappy all the time

That would be insipid and wholly unrealistic

When I'm not in the mood for the telly, it's a fun way to fill time

A few reasons really.

There are some funny folk on here and some wise owls and it does make me smile when it’s good. I don’t get out much and it’s a distraction.

Also I guess it’s a bit like people watching without leaving the sofa, watching the drama, the flirting etc.

I haven’t been here long enough to have experienced the forum Belle Époque so many have alluded to recently. Although it is a little quieter at the moment than when I first joined it is still a great place to come and entertain, enlighten and occasionally nettle myself.

I like a variety of threads, silly or serious (the one on feminism a few day ago was great). I like the ones where a debate can be had and both sides appreciate the others point of view without the need for vilification.

Also I just take it lighthearted and stay away from drama or attention seeking threads I don’t come on here for that so I enjoy my time on here

There and to the left a bit

The forums have always ebbed and flowed, peaked and troughed - and that's the nature of any internet forum, swinging related or otherwise.

Personally I do think they're in a bit of an ebb and a trough currently and have been since the start of lockdown and the reasons behind that are multiple (some personal/some forum related) - for me currently it's a "time waster" rather than a "time spender" but will still keep poking my head round the door while I still want to and there will come a time when the tide turns and they flow again I'm sure

This place has been a real mix of things to me, but like most people I love that I've made some damn good friends, and found people who make me smile every day.

And it's been an escape from the depressing and stressful things going on in my real world a lot of the time as well.

There are bad things of course but if the good didn't outweigh the bad then we wouldn't all still be here.

Given that it's a site geared towards no strings sex, these things could probably be deemed to reveal vulnerabilities and not everyone has scrupulous intentions when pursuing that

I do love the forums, I wouldn’t have been here 9 years if that wasn’t the case. Ive had some amazing advice over the years and have some solid people whose opinions I value so much.

I’m not really enjoying the forums at the moment, I’ve always always had abuse and I’ve taken it all on the chin but lately I’m feeling ganged up on, almost like I’m being targeted. I asked someone I trust to give their view to make sure I wasn’t being paranoid and they’ve said they can definitely see it too.

I feel like I can’t do anything right and I’m getting jumped on all the time whether it’s my own threads or parody threads that feel as if they’re aimed towards me.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

"There's been some negativity on the forum it's not as good as it was etc etc.

Erm, wow, that's a lot of openness but pleased that this den of iniquity seems to have helped.

Oversharer I am most definitely. But all very true had some epic support on here

Why do you overshare?

Because it's my truth, am I ashamed of the things that have happened in my life? No, learnt the hard way that burying shit isn't good for me. Different strokes for different folks and all that

Yes, but why on such a public platform? Doesn't it concern you about giving so much away to so many? Granted, it's a relatively small number of people that actually read the fab forums

Concern why? That people know I miscarried or suffered from domestic abuse? What could some random on an internet forum really do that's worse?

Concern, given the nature of the site I guess. (No idea why that emoji is there, that wasn't intentional)

Don't think the site matters, people should feel open to talk about domestic abuse and miscarriage etc.

People talk about it on TV in magazines and so on, why not here?

Given that it's a site geared towards no strings sex, these things could probably be deemed to reveal vulnerabilities and not everyone has scrupulous intentions when pursuing that

She's definitely a strong minded lady I can assure you. Anyone that thinks she vulnerable will get a shock for sure and she's smart and sexy with it.

It's the hard times that make us stronger after all"

Well said that man. She's incredible, and sexy with it

Targeted in what way? I like your threads asking for info for your book.

Those threads are interesting to read.

You’re far more vulnerable than people realise and I know people say you don’t like overweight people but you’ve been nothing but supportive to me and have had my back and I’m overweight.

Maybe targeted is a bit strong but just feel like people are always looking for ways to have a go. Just feels different to the normal abuse I get.

Got a lot of time for you, you know that

Forums can be super interesting and informative at times. But it does get ruined with negativity and closed minded people who attack each other for silly little things...but even from that you can learn how not to be

It's fun and distracting. And gives me somewhere to throw out random thoughts and mention sex stuff I otherwise wouldn't chat about.
