"Are dogs better pets than cats?
I love both, but I'll admit, I think dogs are better pets.
Discuss. "
Nothing to discuss. Dogs are way better - but a LOT more work! Especially massive Labrador pups who never run out of energy! |

I like both of the equally for different reasons... My cat used to play fetch with me and spend all night sleeping above my head when I was lay in bed and my dog is not really one for chilling with me, he's massively over protective when I have men round (he's only a little yorkie too so it's quite funny him trying to be the boss) |

Now I like cats but I find they betray you quite easily by sitting on someone else's lap when you beckoned them to yours.
Dogs however I'm warming to more. It's just the picking up the poo thing I'm not so keen on.
At least when your cat poops in someone else's garden the swearing from the other side of the fence is entertaining. |

Yes but as I've found living with housemates and their cat; they stink, I think more than dogs.
Dogs you bath once a week in summer and winter to keep the smell off and the dirt off.
But cats, their pee and poop sticks the house out if they have a litter tray. |

I have the best of both worlds - 6 Maine Coons They come for walks with me, swim in the lake with me (when it's not too cold!) and they play a great game of cat skittles with me Dogs and cats are very different, but if you think cats aren't friendly, loyal and affectionate - you don't know cats very well. |

"I like dogs but don't have the time for one as out most days. Cats are easier with a flap they come and go as they please and you are not picking up poop as often."
I am!
I don't have either, but constantly picking up the neighbours cat's crap from my garden, so my kids don't step in on.
I don't mind cats, but wish they would be kept on leads and tidied up after like dogs.
Maybe I'm a little biased as my mum and nan suffered from toxoplasmosis picked up from cat poo. |

I like dogs, but prefer cats
One of mine loves a snuggle and follows me into bathroom, sits on bath, when I have one. He also brings cute gifts in like feathers.
I don't think either is a better pet because of what it is, more one suits you and your lifestyle better maybe |

I visited a friend recently (after I’d topped up on anti-allergy pills) with two rather gorgeous rag doll cats.
They sat between us and constantly wanted cuddling/stroking. My friend has depression - without those cats I doubt he’d still be here.
I would imagine quite a few pets have saved the lives/sanity of their owners during this fucking awful year!
I know that without my lunatic of a pup I’d be bored , fat and lazy instead of out in all weathers cursing the gorgeous fecker! |
