I think if your going to go to the trouble of messaging someone to tell them they have misspelt a word, perhaps you should also make sure your own house is in order first! Just an observation. I'd have blocked you for that reason alone !  |

I think if your going to go to the trouble of messaging someone to tell them they have misspelt a word, perhaps you should also make sure your own house is in order first! Just an observation. I'd have blocked you for that reason alone ! "

Okay, speaking as a professional writer, let me tell you that you're skating on some very thin ice here my friend. Your profile is very badly written.
If you want to become the spelling / grammar police, the first thing you need to learn is... "Spelling / grammar police are not welcome!" Also, it's very bad etiquette to correct people on line.

May I ask, in what way did you deem it to be helpful to them? In a way that says "you don't want to appear uneducated in your profile because you've misspelt a word or two that is of no consequence and as if no one else knew what you meant, regardless" sense?
I know I sound sarcastic but do you think you might've come across that way to them? |

Some people really dont give a flying about spelling or grammer or syntax.
Its one of those things that really can get up someones nose whilst others use it as a measure of intelligence and character etc.
Some typos are easy to spot and you instantly know what they meant.
Others take some figuring but you get there.
Some require a crystal ball.
I am partially dyslexic and I hate mobile keyboards as my hands are quite large.
I look at what they are saying more than how.
We are here to swing and kink ... its not a PHD Thesus or a CV at the end of the day.
Blocking is a usefull way of narrowing down your personal selections I guess especially if there is an element you particularly respond to in an adverse way.
Its no big deal is it. You maybe as pissed of at being blocked as they were re your spelling correction.

I think it depends how helpful. If someone pointed out a spelling mistake or something I would block, if they pointed out I accidentally had my online banking details open behind me in my pictures I would thank them |

Every time a single guy has contacted us in the way mentioned in this thread, it has always been a way for them to try an engage us in further conversation..

Thing is OP by being "helpful" in the way you were you actually drew attention to yourself and the reason they blocked may not have been because you pointed out a minor spelling mistake but because having checked your profile they decided you were not for them and blocked you to save you wasting your time contacting them again.
So look at it as a positive |
