Beaten by a far superior player, what's that - his 7th Wimbledon and 17th Grand Slam title?

Federer is amazing , congrats to him .

Ivan Lendl lost his 1st 4 slam finals and ended up winning 19, Murray won't win 19 but he's a great chance in the US open.

Bring on the na Sayers now

Can you explain how his fitness let down ?

It was Feds passing shots and shots from the base line , fitness didn't even come into it but maybe you can explain your comments to educate us all ?

actually Lendel won eight slam finals but the point is taken.

Andy wa unlucky tho he dominated the second only for fed to up his game and sneak it if Murray had 2 sets to nil hed have won, then the roof changed things and Murrays serve percentage dipped massively.

but we're on about National teams, not English club managers

GENGUY mentioned England falling at the first hurdle (eg, Football) (chuckle)

I'll be the first to say I think England are not a very good side but jesus, compared to Scotland

Fifa Rankings

England 4th

Scotland 49th

Scotlands only qualified for the World Cup 9 times and never got past the first round and qualified for the Euro's twice reaching the last 8 once.

Englands qualified for the World Cup 13 times and won it once and qualified for the Euro's 8 times and best result has been 3rd.

Hence my remark of Scotlands not exactly steeped in footballing glory (chuckle)

I have to admit, I have had no time since he was first playing at Wimbledot and he was complaining about all the 'English' people supporting him as he felt it was wrong, him being Scottish.

I thought to my self, well fuckl off to your side of the wall and play at the All Scotland Lawn Tennis club, see howmany tessins balls you can hit with a deep fried golf club!

I don't think Andy can use his age anymore as Federer had already won Wimbeldon aged 21. Nadal won his first major at just 19 and Djokovic at 21 so 25 is not young in the world of tennis.

Yet, people peak at different ages so who knows if he will improve again but he will certainly need to with this current crop!

I have to say i found his "losing speech/waffle" dreadful. Surely, he's had years to prepare it?

Somewhere in the post match comments/inter_iews i also noticed he commented on doing what he could for "British tennis".

From a man that frequently refuses to play Davis Cup matches for Britain.

Embarrassing? Although not winning them he has reached a few finals and is a multi millionare, how many finals have you reached? "Oh none" then by your own reckoning how much of an embarrassment must your little life be

Freudian slip eh?

sot

(noun)

1. a habitual or chronic d*unkard

2. a person stupefied by or as if by drink

[Old English, from Medieval Latin sottus]
