Ask the sites to freeze you out. If you can’t bring yourself to do it, give your account details to a trusted family member/friend and ask them to do it for you. Then maybe call the advice lines.
It’s such a slippery slope and can be really dangerous. Lots of people struggle with gambling addiction and, as with all addictions, it starts somewhere. |

"profits and loss in the last 7 days £356 up"
Sure...its great when you're up...
What happens when you're 15 grand down?
You either know you have a problem and this is your way of reaching out, or you're just trying to prompt conversation.
Be honest with yourself and do what you need to do. Good luck

I had a friend that gambled using those roulette machines, I watched him loose £300 but he was so addicted he would alter the numbers! And tell me he was just £100 down. Addictions all do this, take control of your better judgement and start to change your reality.
It's hard at the moment but a negative addiction must be replaced with a positive one, such as fitness/training. It's the only way to break the cycle |

I have seen so many people destroy their lives with gambling I use to work in a casino so it was a regular thing yes its great when you win and you get the buzz and think I can keep winning but it never lasts how much are you prepared to loose before realising its taking over your life cos if you can't stop and start loosing you start playing catch up and have the mindset of if just win a couple of times it will be fine and very rarely does it happen and you sink further down and it will take over your life stop before it gets to bad |

"12 months 299 up"
Are you honest about your losses? Nobody who gambles tends to be. I rarely gamble but will my self I am up, I reality I won the grand national once £1500 and then every year since tried to replicate it. Definitely down - £1000 |

I had (and it's probably still there somewhere) an issue for around 20 years. Lost tens of thousands, lost a job, lost the woman I love and lost all self-respect for myself. Tried a few ways to quit but my heart was never in it so I always ended up gambling again. Endless pain, endless lies, ruined credit history (which is only just recovering). And yes, on a few occasions I thought about taking my own life. It's a fucking horrible addiction. (I know someone who killed himself after losing almost £200k).
I blagged about winning to mates to cover losses, when I won it was never enough and I ended losing it all and more. Now I'm self-barred from bookies, I don't have any online accounts and life is just so much better.
Some people do have addictive genes, it's been proven and "just stopping" isn't always an option. The mere fact you've posted on here suggests you want to discuss it and you feel it might be an issue. There's plenty of support out there and never be too proud to accept it. Seeking help isn't a weakness, it shows strength.
Maybe you haven't got a problem, only you know that but just thought I'd share my two-penneth work. |

I play prominence poker, its impossible to pay and has all the fun of real poker with real people, competitions etc. Try finding something similar.
When i do gamble i do it with a friend and we make opposing bets, no bookiesand one of us always wins, the other pays for drinks, everybody wins really.
I also find share dealing has the same kick but you can generally make money and save cash with it. Im up above the market, 2%ish plus dividends and minus fees. All the trills of gambling with wins and losses But very healthy for you. Ive saved £1200 since February having fun gambling every day. Buying a tractor in a fortnight with it and starting another portfolio.
Happy to share more if any of that is helpful. |
