What are your thoughts on pockets?

Just read a survey that says 38 percent of women would put a garment back if it didn't have pockets.

I quite like them but they aren't a deal breaker.

I like pockets.

But they have to actually hold stuff and not just be a useless fold of fabric and ooh look ladies pockets!

I’d be lost without pockets, I hate carrying a bag and avoid it if possible

Depends what it is, I've bought jeans/jeggings that don't have pockets in them and been annoyed when I've discovered it. I like to shove my stuff in my pockets and not need a bag daily.

In jeans I'm all for them as I like to put my phone in the back pocket. I like to have a pocket in my flat for a tissue. Otherwise I really dislike seeing pockets with huge bulky things in them. My least favourite is skin right jeans with a massive phone in one pocket and bunch of keys in the other, second least favourite is cargo shorts with an entire tool kit distributed among the many pockets

Some of my swing dresses have tiny little folds they advertise as pockets. They hold literally nothing. Ooh ladies pockets!

I hear you, Swing.

Or coats with a pocket flap but the actual pocket sewn closed.

Grr

Sometimes you discover that they're fashion pockets. Decorative only.

No. No. No.

I want to hold things in my clothes ffs

Im always in my work cargo shorts which have multiple pockets and means I don't need a bag day to day

At the weekends with dresses and skirts, I like to accessorise with bags so pockets are not so muchly desired

I've never understood women's clothing - surely everyone needs pockets, and it's just a hangover from daft ideas about women carrying a handbag.

Blame the patriarchy.

I like my bags, but they are generally the more robust "fling over your shoulder" type rather than the dainty "keys and lippy" type

I like them on a coat, jacket or fleece but I mostly fill mine with millions of dog poo bags (empty ones).

Pockets cause lumps and make you look fat.

Which of course would be an outrage. Much worse to look bad than being inconvenienced

If my bag can't hold keys, wallet, phones, notebook and a novel I ain't interested.

(I do like them to have a pocket within them for my lippy )

I like pockets. My favourite cardigan that I'm actually wearing right now - a Nightmare Before Christmas one - has pockets that are the perfect size for my Kindle.

I wouldn't look twice at a woman with things in her pockets. Disgusting.

I’m a huge fan of pockets and have been known to put dresses and skirts back on the rack if they don’t have them. It’s one reason I like Boden dresses

The plus side of handbags is that us blokes can put all our shit in them, so you girls can carry everything like a little packhorse.

I generally wear bodycons or shift dresses, so don't expect pockets in those. Trousers and jackets are another matter entirely.

Get a wheelchair. I have a big pouch thingy that's under my seat - no-one can mug me for my purse without turfing me out and getting down on hands and knees under the seat. I have a phone pouch velcro'd to the frame by my right hand. I have a specially designed backpack that goes on the back of the backrest and can be easily accessed when seated. I have a little adapter that I can clip a briefcase onto for carrying books and papers at work and another similar adapter for a cup holder. It's bloody brilliant.

I'm not too bothered personally. I don't really like my dresses to have pockets. I feel like it's pointless for me as I always carry phone or whatever I need in my vag.

I’ve got some lovely dresses with pockets. I even looked at a wedding dress with them when I got hitched lol but it’s not a deal breaker. There’s bras if you don’t have pockets pmsl

The kilt I bought was from a military clothing outlet, and has pockets sewn on to the side and rear, like a pair of cargo pants, so no sporran required

I put my bank card in my back pocket and then bent it when I sat down! Was like a boomerang.
