As some of you might know from past posts I don't use obscene language (unless if I'm talking about sex lol)
Do you think banter is helped or aided by someone who uses obscene language or it doesn't matter? |

I think it depends on the people. I could have some banter with a vicar with no foul language at all. I could also have banter with a mate where every 3rd word is 'fuckinell' |

I think the context matters honestly! Swearing if used tastefully can definitely elevate your level of banter... I think it depends on where you're from also; I can't imagine some of my Scottish friends bantering without swears, as they just do it so well! |

"You seem a very inquisitive person "
I'm a bonafide nerd who loves to take care of himself, hit the gym, dress up and look good. But at my core I'm a nerd (I fall asleep listening to videos on youtube by pbs spacetime haha) and I'm a self published author and poet.
I used to send my teachers crazy lol xx |

I very rarely swear and you can have banter without swearing.
But a well timed/placed swear word can have a bigger affect than if it's just used as part of normal conversation. |

I feel offensive if the other person doesn't swear and I do.
I swear loads, so I'll go speak to someone else who let's em roll off the tongue.
I mean, time and a place n all that, but I'm definitely more comfortable with those that do swear as opposed to those that don't
Dunno, I guess "it was rather large" doesn't quite pack the same punch as "it was THIS fucking big" |

"It depends how well you know the person. In our house we call each other Twats and other things. Maybe best not call your boss a twat though! "
I sang "happy birthday dear ....*whispers* cunt" to mine
THEN called him a twat.
The air is quite blue behind the scenes at work |

Banter can be had with or without swearing, but it depends on who you're having it with. Close friends will get the full Monty, but acquaintances and company I'm not familiar with will get the toned down version. Most of my swearing is reserved for people I like...and occasionally the shock value is so worth it!! But there are people who don't quite get banter and can be offended very easily so it's always best to be aware of the sensitive one's. As for the rest, they can go fuck themselves |
