So if you’re anything like me, you’re massively missing going to gigs and festivals and hanging out with fellow rockers and metalhead...

Who else here is a fan of loud guitars, mosh pits, head banging and hanging out with denim and leather clad weirdos like yourselves?

And what were your last gigs and next gigs (loosely) planned?

I'll go sit in a corner with my head hung in shame, you're not going to approve lol. Last gig was Garbage which was amazing. This year I've missed out on pussy cat dolls and Texas with my old school friends.

I was until I saw it was £125 a ticket!... my last gig was Bad Wolves/ Megadeth/ Five Finger Death Punch for less than half that... hell, that’s half the price of a Download ticket where I’ll be watching dozens of bands rather than 2

I know it's ridiculous, have a feeling the price of live music is going to go up. Not that it was cheap before covid. Got to see them in the student union in Cardiff last year think it was only £35 bargain.

Last gig - Foo Fighters, last August in Belfast. Phenomenal

Next gig - fuck knows!

Best gig/s - Foo Fighters at Wrigley Field Chicago, followed by ZZ Top at Ravinia the same week.

I was going to the Metal Hammer awards a couple of years ago and was going up the Thames on the boat HMS Metal Hammer funny enough, all the bloody singer of 5 Finger Death Punch did was smoke my fags non stop. At one point I even said "you steal one more fag and you won't get to the O2" he then stopped while the singer of Clutch nearly fell on the floor laughing.

But on a plus side I bumped into one of my mates and his dad was there and I got my photo with his dad, now that was a dream come true for me. I have it on a board along with me with Korn, Killswitch, Mike Patton, Motley Crew and a couple of others

Cant remember the last time I paid to see anyone tbh, probably 15 years ago.

Missing it so much. Literally the only things I do in terms of “going out” is gigs and cinema so this year has been horrible. My last gig was Lazuli in Chepstow just before life stopped, next one I have no idea any more because so many have been rescheduled twice already and I’m really confused! Tarja or Evanescence/Within Temptation maybe. No actually, Tarja got rescheduled again to even further in the future. So I really don’t know!

I'm a huge rock and metal fan, but I'm completely burned out on live music, so I don't really go to gigs any more. Lost count at 250 bands, and that was in 2003.

Last band I saw live was W.A.S.P. on the Crimson Idol anniversary tour.

Thankfully I don't have to pay. It would bloody cripple me haha

My ex wanted to see Fall Out Boy in Cardiff a couple of years ago. It was sold out for some reason haha. We were fortunate enough to have a balcony to ourselves. And the band were actually really good live. Never thought I'd say that!

I had a whole raft of gigs lined up for this year. All bar one are postponed until next year. I hope they go ahead because I do miss live performances and the sooner our musicians and artists can get back on stage and perform live again the better. Life is less fun without them.

My last gig was Slipknot in Cardiff with korn supporting (a long time ago now)! I was meant to see placebo 2 years ago but they postponed and I couldn’t make the new gig date. Also gutted I missed out on HIM’s final concert in Manchester which was on my birthday thanks to work. Really want to see Rammstein at some point but so far Muse has been my favourite band to see live- so glad tickets for troops hooked us up as they sold out so fast!

Was guitar tech. Got the job from working in Cardiff CIA as a sound and light tech. That was all a long time ago now but still know quite a few People and managers so get into a lot of gigs for free plus I played in bands which is where I met my mate, it was 6 months before I knew who's son he was and then that was only just by chance as his dad dropped him off late to a gig. He got out the car kicked it, called his dad a prick and said "I don't give a fuck who you were flying back" I nearly shit myself when I realised who he was hahaha.

My son would pay in blood to meet Trivium. Pull Harder on the Strings of your Martyr and Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation were the catalysts for him becoming a guitarist. As a 4yo, he had a little plastic toy guitar but he didn't like the pre programmed nursery rhymes it played. He asked me to make a strap for it, which I did out of an old belt and he used to watch the music videos that were DVDs extras on our Ascendancy album. Now he can play those songs as well as the band themselves and I get a little tear in my eye when I hear him play them. He's in a band now, had started gigging before Covid, recorded and released a single and is studying Music and Music Production at uni

The last band I really got into was FFDP but after there first 2 or 3 albums they went all soft and boring.

Know what you mean but let's face it there hasn't been a decent new band since the naughties lol

I’d dispute this point, there are some amazing bands out there that are pretty new"

The only new band that I've come to like recently is the Mongolian throat singing metal band the Hu.

The last band I saw pre lockdown was with my emo daughter - Palaye Royale. Not exactly cool with us oldies but I’m a good mum.

Next band... who knows? I’ve got some booked but likely they will be cancelled at this rate.

Really miss live gigs.

The last was a couple of small local bands in a nearby venue, but the last anyone would have heard of was the Wildhearts.

My ex wanted to see Fall Out Boy in Cardiff a couple of years ago. It was sold out for some reason haha. We were fortunate enough to have a balcony to ourselves. And the band were actually really good live. Never thought I'd say that!"

Took my daughter to her first gig to see fall out boy in Manchester, was a surprise till an hr before we left, think she was 12 at the time, I didn't really know the band just their latest album, they are bloody good live so much so I've got tickets for their hella mega tour with green day if it happens next year

Nope, always only had the money for a holiday or festival when younger and chose the holiday. We wanted to go this year as a band was headlining that was the favourite of my partners close friend who died a couple of years ago so we planned to go with a group of his friends.

I'd love to go at some point though!

Used to frequent the Cro bar in Soho, so many famous people drink there after gigs, hubby and I have been fortunate to meet quite a few famous people there.

"Think the best live was Rob Zombie closely followed by slipknot, but for shear awesomeness was certainly the time I ended up in a Camden hotel with the deathstars.. I helped skinny with his dreads and we all drank much too much whisky "

I would have to agree. Seen slipknot last year one hell of a stage show . Rob zombies was better.

"So if you’re anything like me, you’re massively missing going to gigs and festivals and hanging out with fellow rockers and metalhead...

Who else here is a fan of loud guitars, mosh pits, head banging and hanging out with denim and leather clad weirdos like yourselves?

And what were your last gigs and next gigs (loosely) planned?"

Like lots of different music and metal being one.

Last gig was skunk anansie and they're awesome!!

Unfortunately missed out on seeing stereophonics this year, had tickets but ex got them

Really need to get my arse to download soon, when we're allowed again that is

Seen so many last year and the beginning of this year. Then the virus. Had plans for Tool's tour. Motley crue tour and others. Depressing.

Iv been to lots if gigs, mostly in Manchester and local too it, korn with incubus and suicidal tendencies, sepultura, pantera, biohazard, amen, but the most surprising gig was moby, yes moby, he had an album out in mid 90s(animal rights) he supported the chili's in Manchester in 95, he came on stage and blew everybody away, including the peppers, his bass player was Ali mcmordy from SLF, bit of trivia for ya bitchies
