"So andy is still classed as British now..?"
I really hope he achieves it for himself first and foremost.... then his family, Scotland & Great Britain.
Many hours on a tennis court, Gym etc whilst other kids played, he trained to ultimately win Wimbledon.
I wish him well.....

Good luck andy!
Im hoping Ivan Lendl has performed his voodoo magic or whatever it is that is now helping andy with the psycological side of the game!!!
whatever the result today, he has done bloody well to get to a wimbledon final!! |

I know he seems miserable all the time, but good luck to him. Scot or Brit, its nice to see a finalists from these shores. in a major sporting event.
Read yesterday that he was in the classroom next to the shootings in Dunblane, quite a journey he has had already.

Couldn't agree more...the single minded determination required, especially in non team sports, often marginalises the ability to be socially/ media adept...Murray's invariably honest and straightforward manner when dealing with the media might not pander to the PR/spin celebrity devotees, but I for one find it refreshing |

I hope he wins.
This stuff about nationality is a complete red herring.
It's not a team sport - he's playing to win for Andy Murray.
It's the rest of us who hitch our national pride to the event and turn it into a squabble.
I bet he's glad he turned down an invite to play football for Glasgow Rangers when he was 15.

Fred Perry last won Wimbledon in 1936. The last Brit to appear in a final was Bunny Austin in 1938 who was beaten by American Don Budge.
Good luck Murray, I hope he wins it but I think Federer might prove to strong an opponent and Murray too nervous about his first Wimbledon final. |

"I am nervous already......"
channel 5 for you today.......
As much as I would love to see him win, sadly I don't think he will.
However, I do believe it will be a tighter final than most are predicting. He's going in as the underdog and most have written him off already, so hopefully he will prove all his sceptics wrong.

Leave the pasties alone... or at least in Cornwall.
I'm concerned that Murray may be giving too much at the beginning - Federer is just warming up and seeing where the weaknesses can be exploited. |

My youngest and his pal just popped in for one of the many snack breaks they have .... both of them watched the tennis while munching a tub of philly and pack of crackers.
I overheard my son say to his pal...
"pity all sports games are not played like that"
his pal asked "what you mean?"
"all played nice and fair" he replied.
Out of the mouths of babes and all that ....... |

"Told ya Fed would win!
yeah that was a tough shout picking the 6 times winner
well done sir"
It was nothing. Really. I'm good at this sorta stuff. Predicted spain to win the Euros too y'know. Well, I say predicted it, I sort of said Spain might win it if Germany weren't on their game but then Portugal fucked that up. |
