I have recently become a grandmother and have loads of messages from friends now calling me a GILF.
I know its meant as a compliment and yes I love being a grandmother and have been one since before I joined this site.
Does anyone else hate that expression or is it just me?

Hmm, I'm with you! I'm not a grandparent but have been called a MILF and don't like it. As much as I'm sure it's meant as a compliment it's the opposite for me.  |

These terms come from the porn industry and need to stay there.
They ARE demeaning, degrading and objectifying.
Some people do think they say it as a compliment but they fail to realise that they are partaking in the objectification of the women they are labelling. It takes away the womans personality and humanity.
The O.P was a sexual sentient being before becoming a mother, she remains a person and an individual after becoming a grandmother.
We have names and feelings.
I have a problem with my age in that people think I say what I say as im old fashioned and stupid.
I have a problem with my gender as the majority of males on here come directly from porn sites and see the females as one of the many 'titled' animals available to be abused for their pleasure.
These are the reasons I don't answer messages that say ......
I have no hang ups with age
I love older women
Older women welcome
Pull my foreskin back granny to see if i've been a good boy and cleaned it properly.

My name is my fault. I used to think I got those messages as i'd been a naive idiot when I thought of it. Seems everyone gets them tho....
I'm being a little over lengthy but it's important to me and I think to swinging.
Swinging needs separating from porn. I have no doubt about that.
Swinging should be sex as part of life - enjoyable sex.
Women really should be allowed to enjoy sex. To want it willingly. To be able to smile naturally. To not be expected to conform, please and serve.
Quite a lot of women will respond that what they do is for them. I suggest in a few years, with some experience , reading and learning they will begin to realise that they have never considered what their sexuality really is.

indifferent here and can quite honestly say I have never heard this expression used orally, seems more a tinternet thing.

People seem to forget that our young ones are brought up in a world dominated by the media and it is the media who are sexing everything up to the point that it becomes normal to sexually objectify almost anything or anyone. You even see it exploited in cooking programmes and documentaries ie he or she "makes history sexy".

What happened to the good old days when nans like mine where in their 60,s nowadays it's seems to be in fashion the younger the better. I think women get a ego boost when they say they r a nan and often the guys who r chatting them up saying ur never a nan u don't look older enough. Yes I can understand what you mean about the whole "intention" thing in the mail, but there is still going to be an element of it because of your name.
I am guessing from what Mr Ruggers has just said that it is meant as a compliment and nothing sinister in it at all....and although as you mentioned up there that there could be some fetish sites on it, I think it is just a complimentry term for most who use it.

Me and my mum are very very close. I don't think it's a case of manners - and yet again people on here are coming across as very judgmental.
