Do people think these days on fab there are a lot of time wasters and people who look for attention?

Hope when lockdown ends and covid 19 ends the admin team will have a more look in to Fabswingers and get all the time waster away and make this site fun again!

"What is your definition of a timewaster?"

I enjoy this question.

Probably only gets answered in 1 out of 10 time waster threads by the person throwing stones.

There's a pandemic happening OP so people aren't meeting at the moment. Still lots of other things to use the site for.

Is that because nobody wants to meet you during, say, a world wide virus that's killing people by the 1000s daily??

I noticed that too.

Timewasters are usually people who don't want to meet the person calling them timewasters.

Arranges it, most of us have encountered profiles like that, all talk then disappear. Each to their own but I think there should be a system on here (after COVID) which helps determine wether people on here are genuinely looking to meet or not .

Not really, a time waster is someone who agrees to meet , but doesn’t

Thanks - I’d agree with that. You arrange to meet up and they don’t appear without a valid reason or any contact. I’d call that a time waster.

You can report people for this.

How on earth will admin police that? Yes we have all had people say they will meet then change their mind! Couple weeks ago b 4 this lockdown I've had 3 who arranged to meet for a coffee (on different days lol!) But all 3 cancelled but it's just how it is! Never take things serious here! If it happens just take with a big pinch of salt and move on! X

Looking for attention is not timewasting, but if someone doesn't suit what you are looking for stop talking to them as you are wasting your own time

I think people are on here for different reasons. Many are on for the social aspect and like interaction with like minded people whereas others are here for meets - whether that be one offs or regular.

I do understand what you mean by "time wasters" though. Many people will chat to us and say they have the same fantasy or want the same things but they actually don't. I think for many it's the excitement of talking about a fantasy that appeals and not actually acting it out which is fine if they are honest from the start. Although if people change their mind they shouldn't be labelled time wasters and they shouldn't feel obliged to do anything just because they've had a conversation with someone.

We understand your frustration it can be annoying when it happens time after time and I'm sure at the moment most people won't/ shouldn't be meeting anyway.

I like being on here with all the different people though and seeing things from others point of views.

For me a time waster is a no-show.

Tell me you ain't coming and ok, I may be disappointed but I know where I stand. That ain't a time waster unless it happens multiple times with very little notice. By very little notice, I'm talking I'm already ready.

I've been called into work and let people know I can't make it, I don't feel I've wasted someone's time. Inconvenienced them yes, but not intentionally wasted their time.

I've changed my mind before now. I've realised that something has felt a wee bit off, or maybe I'm really not feeling it and let them know I've changed my mind.

People are humans, they have emotions and life can impact your headspace. Would you prefer I met anyway even though I didn't want to be there and it showed? Barrel of laughs that would be.

Women sometimes have a period sprung on them by good ole mother nature. Would you rather they still came and no nookie was gonna happen or gave you enough notice to arrange something else?

Leaving me hanging and having no contact to tell me you've changed your mind so I'm sat there like a dick clock watching, then realising I've been stood up - that in my book is a tike waster.

There is a no show button so you can report. I would imagine if someone is a repeat no-show being reported by different profiles then admin would take action.

Don't forget admin can view messages, so they'll be able to see if arrangements have been made and not stuck to.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

'These days' is a clusterfuck. Basically all people have been able to do (or in a lot of cases WANT to do for their own safety) since March..... March. So 9 months, is well, virtual.

Covid will be on people's minds for a very long time and even once the vaccine is out there will be some who won't be confident to get back out there for a good while.

Are they timewasters because they're not gonna be meeting until THEY feel comfortable to do so?

The only time I have had my time truly wasted was when I turned up to a meeting and they didn’t show. Then took the piss out of me for being so naïve as to think that they were going to meet me. It wasn’t on here but it made me more circumspect about meeting anyone. Anything else then you have saved time by not getting to the point of meeting and them not turning up.

I have to admit I do indulge in the odd occassion and I do lead them on- reply “Yeah, sure”- next question of course is the address and then comes total silence. Haha I have to be reaaaally bored for me to do that. But yes, sometimes I am a timewaster.

I reported a guy before for not turning up. We were messaging on here then kik, said he was leaving so I left the same time. Was only going for a drive through Starbucks. He was like are you there and I said yes and he said I’m on my way. I waited, played some candy crush, waited, played more candy crush, waited, messaged him where are you then, he read it and nothing, I said ok I’m leaving he said no I’m almost there. Waited another 10 minutes, got myself an iced mocha and text to say I was leaving. He read it and nothing. Reported him and nothing happened.
