There are a number of profiles where the individual is only looking for members of the opposite sex i.e. Single men looking for women or single women looking for men. Is this accepted as after all this is a swinging site i.e. wife swapping. |

Think the site has come a long way in the last few years, so much so that I really think a name change would do the site good. FabConnections would be a better name. Would take away the ‘seedy’ aspect of the site (I don’t think it’s seedy btw) but would take away the embarrassment factor of belonging to such a site. Plus like you say, a lot of people aren’t interested in swinging they just want a connection with like minded people.
There are search options that enable couples to look for other couples so that’s the swinging box ticked.
As for singles being allowed on the site, you feel singles that are happy to serve or join a couple can stay but singles who want to meet other singles shouldn’t be allowed? I don’t think that’s very fair. |

Its an alternate lifestyle where people (married or oher wise) who appreciate sex is not restricted to the sanctity of marriage can enjoy themselves.

I think the Genuine Swingers made it seedy back in the 70's.
I like the idea of a new name.

Couples meeting couples is a very narrow definition of swinging though. I'm in a relationship and meet others alone. Those others are usually single but can be attached if they have a similar set up to me and my partner. Still counts as swinging in my books, not that I care much if others disagree. |

What difference does it make if the person is straight or Bi?
I'm single, yes I'm Bi but I don't class myself as a swinger, more ethically non monogamous leaning towards Poly. I don't play with couples either

I definitely think a name change would be good. I wouldn’t be embarrassed about telling people I’m on here then or people knowing. You say Fab Swingers and they’re like oh you’re a swinger, and I’m like no.
Fab connections encompasses all kinds of hookups and adult connections.
Wouldn’t be seen as taboo, the press wouldn’t be so quick to wanna expose things that goes on. More women might join. |

The site admin obviously accept this otherwise they wouldn't have an option to create a single profile or to look for singles only.
The beauty of FabSwingers is it doesn't limit itself so it can be used as a swinging, hookup, sex, dating or 'whatever you want it to be' site or just as a forum or chat room site or keeping in contact with friends site.
Essentially it's a 'look for likeminded people' site whether you have sex with them or not.
It's best to use and enjoy the site the way you want to use it and not worry too much about what other people are or aren't using it for. |

I remember a thread from a while back, a swinging couple ranting about how single men and women shouldn't be allowed on Fab.
After much heated debate it turned out they met on Fab when they both had singles profiles.
If you thought they got ripped before that revelation you can imagine the comments afterwards.
If I recall the thread was closed because of the (deserved IMHO) crap they were getting.
If I was single and looking for a swinging partner, what better place to find him/her than on a swinging website.
I suspect many self righteous, coupled up, "proper" swingers don't give that a seconds thought.

Since when did "swinging" come to be defined as "wife swapping" OP? The term "swinging" was actually coined in the sixties when there was a big move away from the traditional values of one sexual partner for life to a more liberal attitude towards sex - the term may have been "borrowed" in the seventies for the keys in a bowl crowd but as with most things has (thankfully) evolved away from that again to have a very loose and individual definition once more.
Putting that aside though if "swinging" meant wife swapping (which is a term I hate as why "wife" swapping suggesting it's the woman being swapped like a trading card - why not "husband" swapping?) only why do "swinging" clubs allow singles to attend? Why does Fab allow singles to sign up? How do couples that swing find an extra person for an MMF or MFF?
For me the term "swinging" has many definitions each of them individual to the person that defines it - if *your* definition is "wife swapping" then that's fine but that doesn't mean others definition is wrong and shouldn't be allowed either. |

The site is available for anyone of legal age who abides by site rules to join. There are various options to choose from when describing your status and it's free. There are also mail and search filters which allow members to receive messages and find profiles within certain parameters. So yes, single profiles are accepted and welcomed. |

At the moment I’m not looking for anyone - which makes me defunct I guess.
The site has many ‘genuine’ single people who are open to meeting/falling for a fellow swinger and becoming a swinging couple. I’m one of those.
It also has many singles who see fab as a way of having sex/making friends until they fall in love and return to a life of monogamy. It can be argued that they’re not swingers - but many attend clubs and socials and are defined as swingers in that way.
I think the view that only ‘wife swappers’ are swingers is extremely limiting, not least because many couples enjoy meeting singles too.
Also - ‘traditional’ swinging, from hearsay at least - seemed to be the totally indiscriminate ‘ keys in a bowl’ kind - and the idea of having sex with someone I’m not attracted to and don’t have chemistry with makes me vomit slightly.
Essentially - swinging took a totally different direction with the onset of the internet and swinging websites - though I totally believe there’s more than enough room for everyone op. |

I don't think this is necessarily just a swinging site. We joined because we want to play with other women and expand our sexual experiences. Without the single males/females this wouldn't be possible for us. I think this site caters for a lot of kinks/tastes and has developed into what it is today - which isn't just a site for swingers.
We were recommended the site by single people and wouldn't actually be on here without them telling us about it. |
