Yeah the main thing is when your brain has made a match or a mismatch on a situation but it hasn’t quite reached your conscious awareness yet.
I wanna say that in a better way |

It’s something to do with there being
nerve cells in the gut that communicate with the brain so before we process it we get a feeling in our stomach wether it be hunger or intuition, so basically there’s a brain In Itself In The gut |

I would like to think that cavemen and women developed the first gut feeling so that they just knew something was wrong with their potential partner but they couldn't put there finger on it.
In reality it will be some complex medical reason where the gut is linked to something with a really long Latin name and that's what causes it |

Yep, that’s essentially it. Our senses take in information and patterns get recognised, that then get processed by synapses that release Seratonin and effectively activates those feelings in the gut.
It happens very quickly, much like how quickly we react when something touches our skin unexpectedly.

I think maybe when we notice something amiss, the first thing our body do is to stop gastro-intestinal function by reducing blood flow to these organs (enzymes, hormones etc).
This might results in the gut queasiness and then we associate it with the trigger factor.
Just my theory. |

Because your gut is extremely sensitive. It is filled with millions of micro-organisms & your gut reacts to what is happening in your body (I get bloating from stress or lack of sleep).
So this is why our guts should be listened to.
