"Whole baby octopus, they were about 2-3cms in length. They were alright but not something I’d rush to eat again. "
Octopus when cooked right is devine. Never had a full baby one though |

Nothing very exotic but once in my early 20’s I went out with an Arab guy for a while. He invited me to a friends for a meal - turned out it was just him, his 3 male friends and me as the only woman. Didn’t turn into an orgy and was treated with respect as an « an honorary man ». They had a huge bag of Quails flown in that they cooked in butter and prepared a huge bowl of Taboula to go with them. The quails were delicious but I had a huge problem eating them as the heads had been left on and I couldn’t look at the tiny eye sockets and tiny beaks and enjoy them. |

Agree and it doesn’t look much like an octopus, last time I’m ordering the seafood salad |

On holiday in the then Yugoslavia over 30 yrs ago,
We used to work our way through the restaurant menu, this night we picked Steak Tartare, thought it was a Steak in a sauce,
Nope,
Long story short, for those that might not know its raw mince mixed with herbs and spices served on toast like pate,
Both very apprehensive but actually was very tasty and no side effects lol |

The last time I had frogs legs they kept kicking the peas off the plate |

Sweetbread is nice, too.
Haggis.
I'm guessing you won't be ordering rognon blanc next time you're in France...

Gillian McKeith did a diet book years ago which I followed. She suggested Spirulina or Blue Algae sprinkled on to my porridge or mixed with water. It has to be the most revolting thing I have ever tasted in my life. The texture, smell and taste made me vomit. It's supposed to be a super food!
Aside of that, I've eaten kangaroo steak and snails when I went to Paris. I could never be on I'm a celebrity as I heave when I see them eating an animals penis or a fish eye etc. |

I used to have a boyfriend who loved that and ate it quite often in London restaurants. They chopped best fresh steak up into tiny pieces with sharp knives, piled on a plate, made a dent in the centre and cracked a fresh raw egg in the centre. The customer then mixes it together with pepper and salt to taste and eats it. He said it was an aphrodisiac and it certainly worked |

Can't remember the name of the "dish" but it was on a beach in Thailand. Live miniture shrimps that you scooped up with a leaf and popped in your mouth. You could feel them hopping about still as you ate them. Only tried them the once funnily enough. |

It has to be the guts of raw black sea urchin, freshly plucked out of the water by a boat tour operator in Corfu 22 years ago.
Absolutely disgusting.
Slimey smelly fishy liquidy gunge!
The "selling point " of this delicacy apparently was that it is said to be better than viagra!
I would say that no one would want to go anywhere near you if your breath smelt of that, so how they could say it was a natural aphrodisiac baffles me!

I tried jellied eels once. Tasted like someone had already chewed the fish beforehand and spat it back into the jar. Absolutely tasteless rubbish.
Cockneys why put up with this slop, when you've got one of the world's best fish markets on your doorsteps?
I've had roast conger eel before and that was a million times better. Yum. |

"Rocky Mountain Oysters. Have never seen them in the shops but Mr occasionally manages to get hold of some.
I’m not surprised you don’t see them in the shops "
Let me know if you ever fancy trying them and we’ll pop some in the post |

Went with the school to Tunisia way back in 1978. Went on a day out to a beduin camp; dinner was sheep's eyes for starters, camel brain for main course.
There were three of us who finished both. Can't really remember what they tasted like. |
