A couple of years ago I put a chicken in ma preheated oven, went to check on it about half an hour later and it was stone cold. I'd only put the top oven on hadn't I

Yes been there Ace, did same at my mums.
Also put grill on instead of the oven.

Have you tried giving it a rub to warm it up a bit?
You mentioned there are a few knobs near by, maybe try playing with the biggest one for a bit and see if that has any change in your ring temperature |
