I actually think you have a point there - as much as I hate the man and what he has done, causing division wherever he saw fit being one of hisminor crimes, he did attract 70Mio voters this time round and that is worrying and it probably wont go away within 4 years. Biden, the Democrats will have their work cut out to gently bring a good deal of those voters round to a more humane model of politics and society.

So back to the comments by Richard.Cranium. When he first posted to say Biden was a creepy pedo, he was rightly called out and asked for evidence - which in fairness he supplied. Now I happen to agree with the consensus on here that the video in question is likely distorted and doesn't infact make him a pedo (though Biden himself has started he has lessons to learn in respecting personal space). However, for a long time all Richard got in return was personal attacks with no one bothering to engage in any critical discussion of the video he had offered to support his claim. When the video was eventually discussed it was simply dismissed, firstly without any reason at all then as fake, doctored or whatever with absolutely no attempt to evidence or justify those claims.

We seem to continue to dismiss everyone and anyone who has a different opinion to ours, imply (or outright state) that they are idiots for believing what they do, demand they supply evidence, yet when they do, dismiss it without any attempt to offer evidence in return. Then we wonder why we end up with Brexit, Boris and Trump.

We have to do better, we have to engage with people who believe different to us. We have to apply the same level of critical thinking to our beliefs that we expect others to do to theirs. When someone offers evidence we don't agree with, we have to explain why we believe that evidence is wrong, not simply offer a patronising spade so they can keep digging. Just think, how many of you would have challenged the pedo comment had it been Trump in that video?

I will take things seriously when there's merit to them. If anyone believes that an elected official has committed a crime, they should report their evidence to the relevant authorities.

I have not seen any substantive thought on why, policy wise, Joe Biden would be a worse president than Trump. Just allegations of dementia and criminality.

The evidence of Trump's nepotism and failings is enormous. But they just dismiss it and respond with "well you too". It's frustrating.

People can speak as they like and vote as they like. I know I can't always get my way politically (in fact I almost never do). I have my values (subjective), I have my ways of evaluating claims (closer to objective).

Don't we all decide, every day, whether to bother responding or not? Or how?

The poster made the claim that biden 'looked 'like a paedophile.

His evidence was a shonky looking highly edited you tube video.

A couple of posters, me included suggested this was not a convincing argument.

Biden has been a high profile politician all his life.If he was a paedophile ,I'm fairly sure this would have come out by now.

If he would have provided more compelling evidence, this could have been discussed further,he didnt.

If you make an outlamshsh claim,you should be prepared to back it up with actual evidence.

Some iffy you tube video entitled biden the pedo, is not hugely convincing I'm afraid.

As for the spade remark..you realise he called a poster a racist who didnt agree with him?

This is fine in theory, but a bit naive as to the reality of these arguments.

I've seen time and time again on these forums and elsewhere Brexit/Trump supporters being shown evidence and simply ignoring it.

Both Brexit and Trump are emotionally appealing to people, not logically or factually.

It's also a bit tiresome hearing 'you have to reach out to people!' constantly being aimed at people on the left. You never hear it being said to the other side.

I read today that he's suggested a coup if things don't go his way.

Guess he's not a democrat because he doesn't believe in democracy.
