How many lines do you read on a profile
Jump to: Newest in thread
"It depends on the context, I've read some really long ones that are interesting & funny, I've also got bored after the first 2 lines of some. "
Speed reading - if I detect any block letter words I will look at that first and decide whether to continue or not. |

I diligently read a profile until I see block capitals or shouty text. Quick delete and move on to the next, poorly contructed profile.
Huge fan of the,'I'll write something later' approach. It cuts down on my reading time. |

I tend to read the whole profile first, then the pictures (no point in getting excited if your not what their looking for). Then it's either move on or put them on the hot list with every intention of messaging but almost never do. |

I read it all until I get to something that indicates I'm not what they are after, or they don't seem right for me.
Though, sometimes I continue reading after that if it was interesting or I just want to be nosey and know more about them. |

"I get to the word sapiophile...
then think - fuck that!
So someone attracted to intelligence is a turn off?... Or means you won't be compatible? "
Obviously too busy sticking my penis inside my nutribullet to care |

If just browsing from a forum then it varies. Their profile will either reinforce or deny the first impression from their comments.
If from a contact, all of it. You need all the help you can get.
The longer profiles *tend* to be women/couples so if you get up to a couple hundred words from a bloke then it is unusual. Think cereal box rather than Tolstoy |

All of it.
Mine comes across boring at the start and I don't care. Getting the housekeeping out of the way and then people know what's expected of them.
If they can deal with and respect that, then they can get to the good stuff. |

Mmhm. If I can't tell you've read my profile I'm not replying. |

Indeedy, basic good manners and plenty to go on to be able to create a decent first message. |

This is going to make me sound so bad but i look at profiles and read them to gauge the owners intelligence lol
Short, informative profiles are usually good indicators of smart people. Long profiles with a lot waffle that really don't say much are a good indication of the opposite.
Ps; i always compliment a good profile whenever i come across one. |

I read all of a profile. I need to to make informed decisions. If someone has taken the time to put more than two lines, even better if more than a paragraph, it is respectful to read it. |

I read the age range and who they want to meet. If it says "not looking for single guys" or out of my age range, I don't see the point on reading or looking at the pics as I could never contact them. |

"All of it. It's been written for a purpose so use it to learn about the person before you reach out to them.
Really wish more folk would do this. But then I'd never get any inboxes if they did "
So much. I alternate between novel and short.
At the moment any unsolicited contact means I've messaged them at some point in the distant past, given my filters, so, block. |

"before you switch off and start to think ‘nah, too demanding’?
Love and Peace "
To be honest, if you don't have the respect to read all the profile, then THEY have had a lucky escape. |

If a profile is written in an interesting and intriguing manner, or if it is genuinely hilarious then I ll read it to the end for sure.
Not so, if there are a lot of capital letters, text speak, lack of punctuation (makes it so hard to read!) or constitutes what I would consider dribble (others might disagree on that). Each to their own |

Block capitals is red flag for me. Thank you |
