All the years I worked away from home I spent a small fortune on the soulless shoe boxes they call Travel Lodge, Premier Inn amongst others.
Given the choice I would sooner give my cash to B&B's in the local areas.
I don't think that the big chains would go bust but if people opted for B&B's and boycotted them it would make them rethink their prices and performance with customers. |

They've all been blokes working there and wouldn't want extras from them |

Nah, I work for one of the above mentioned chains, and we get very few swingers staying with us, mainly business men, who tend not to entertain random women, despite the amount of "I'm away on business offers" I get!! |

Ah, but how many business men and women put their rooms through under the business name so's can claim tax back????? I know both me and one of my self-employed FWBs do...... |

I do not wish to accommodate, hence I would book a discounted room at a Travelodge near me from time to time, so that I know I have somewhere to go for some fun.
I managed to book a cheap room once a month for 2011. However, I only stayed for 3 times in the entire year.
This year, I booked a cheap room once a month for Jan to Apr, and only stayed once.
Hence I don't bother anymore as I seldom meet nowadays.
I shall book a room as and when my mood takes me from now on.

"Last year, the majority of the rooms I booked were 9-10 GBP. "
Ditto. Just got to pick the right dates. I managed to book the Premier Inn near Partners for £15 on a Friday night. Lovely room too!
When I travel for work I book through work, so get to stay at Marriotts and Hiltons, and I can say I make full use of my evenings there. If I have to pay, I wait til there is an offer on then work round that. However I did cough up quite a lot of money for the Travelodge at Kings Cross and it was a dump.
Etap in Leeds is very cheap, and perfectly adequate for sexual shenanigans for an evening. I never know why people complain about cheap hotels. What do they expect for £10 - £25 a night?
I would never arrange a meet at a B&B. It would be too much like staying in a strangers house, and I wouldn't be able to relax. |

I like Travelodge. It's cheap and the places I've stayed have been fine. I have stayed there both for meets and when I'm away on holiday. I have stayed in expensive hotels with work and they have been a bit nicer, but not that much. |

In general, I prefer to stay at no thrill budget hotels, and spend the money I save towards a better meal instead.
Instead of staying at the 5* hotel where I was having a celebratory meal in one of its starred restaurants, I would stay at a lesser hotel, and travel there by taxi instead.
The money I saved on the room was enough to pay for the meal, and it was a bloody good meal.

The only downside to Travelodges is the need to have a room card just to get through the front door/stairs/up in a lift!!
Gone are the days you could just relax in your roomn til there was a knock on the door - now you have to go and let people in! lol
Don't these companies realise the difficulty in popping down in the lift in a full gimp suit and blindfold?? The health and safety executive should start an immediate enquiry!!! |

And they gave my room to someone else, who was in the room when I arrived. Would never stay in one again. |

I have stopped in a few of the above on a rare occasion but would rather pay a little more for more comfortable surroundings. Saying that if its clean and tidy you are not going to go far wrong if you are not using it for sleeping. |

I guess that would depend on who was waiting in there for you?
A fellow fabster, lying naked on the bed blindfolded expecting someone to just stroll in?
Your luck could have been in there! |

I would use B&B's if you could be assured the same standard of cleanliness as the chains. Fed up with being disappointed and repulsed at the state of some of them. Also the smaller ones can't offere such competative rates. |

yeah sorry about that I had no idea!
If id had known then how uncomfortable it was going to be id have let you have the room and gone to sleep on a comfortable park bench
But now you mention giving booked rooms away that happened to friends of ours at one,we had all booked for a party in london but they had no room when they got there and had to go to a different one a few miles away! |

I only started working for the group about 6 months ago, and I'm gutted I can't use them anymore. I'm not allowed to stay with the one I work for, and my manager looks after the other one too, so I don't really want her knowing how I spend my spare time!!! |

I have a 'friend' that has had that problem too! So annoying! How can you get all in your kinky pvc gear and thigh high boots and then nip down to reception to let them in??! So she tells me....... |

Well I'm not sure I dare use the travelodge near Meadowhall again, as everytime I go it's the same lass on reception, she was struggling like hell to keep a straight face the last time I checked in with my meet and was smirking the time before that! I think she must think I'm a male escort or something! lol |

I`m off down to Plymouth for the weekend on Saturday. Tried the "cheap" chains and they were all more expensive than the 4* Copthorne I love sitting in the nuddy on their armchairs as they are usually velour covered and feel dead sexy! |
