Argos, Is this the end of the road?

Finedon ,

Following on from Argos ditching their catalogue it was announced today that they will not be re-opening the 400 stores which were closed at the last lockdown, from now on it is on line or through the Argos outlets in Sainsbury's if you wish to avail yourselves of Argos products,

Sainsbury's, owners of Argos, themselves seem to be in panic mode closing all their Fish, Meat and Deli counters. For me that will be goodbye Sainsbury, hello Morrisons.

Deli counters should be closed anyway, who wants food that's just left in the open air with no coverings anyway?

Got a friend working for argos, they are doing so well with online sales the shops are becoming a pointless expense.

It's sad as many jobs will go but Argos are unlikely to be going out of business anytime soon.

You never know. I barely use Amazon these days (even been close to closing my account) and have switched to using Argos more

You must have experienced the "sorry this item is unavailable to your postcode"

Why not just say, sorry its out of stock and we don't know when it will be back in.

There are better deals to be had from House of Fraser, we bought a Reebok treadmill and it was £40 cheaper than Argos and included free delivery.

To think these were all well established british stores stalwarts in a way they were recoqnized as such my most people shopping in the high street only to go like they have, but like someone said earlier its Important to be able to clothes shop not just for the fitting of the clothes but also for the personal assistance too same as with footwear you don,t get that on line that is something on line can,t give you.

One thing online though....

You don't get the over enthusiastic sales assistant pouncing on you when you log on.

Yes I must admit they do tend to get eager sometimes it can be a bit off putting thou but I normally say I,m ok thank you then they let you carry on in peace, at other times perhaps not so much I,ve struggled to get assistance when needed but generally speaking it works out ok.
