Slippers are one of the best things you can wear on your feet indoors and especially in the Winter months, they were first invented by Sir Gareth Slippers in 1982, he had enough of tying two pieces of carpet to his feet when he went outside to put the bins out and to go down the chippy. There are many types of slippers, like moccasin’s and some others ones.
I’ve often thought about investing in a pair of slippers, but haven’t taken the plunge yet. Do you wear slippers, do you know anyone who wears slippers, why do you wear slippers, why do they wear slippers, is it so you can pop to the chippy and take the bins out, what slippers do you recommend, have you got a mono slipper and hop around the house, maybe you bought two mono slippers so it looks like a giant lives in your house. I’ve seen some slippers for £80, are they worth it, can you put a price on that much comfort.
If you don’t have slippers do you cut out two pieces of carpet and wear them on your feet. Ladies if you find out a man on here wears slippers do you lose respect for him, is it a deal breaker ?! |

I don’t, I think I’ve been to embarrassed to buy them, but what with the advent of online shopping no one will know, unless it says SlippersRUs on the box in big writing. |

I wear 'sliders' round the house
I bought them for pool wear a couple of years back and they are soooo comfy, so I multi purposed them
However, I don't go shopping in them |

"13 slippers.
1 slipper
Good post
Thank you, in contrast to the poster above you, who said it was ‘strange’ "
In answer to your questions.... or some of them;
I have two pairs of knitted slipper socks.
I find slippers make my feet too hot.
My house has flagstone floors and so slippers are a must here.
I have no issue if a man has slippers. If he has broad shoulders and a toned body.... tall too; I very much doubt I’ll notice what’s on his feet |

"
There’s about 5 things here i need to Google! |

Sliders, this seems like a maverick approach |

I wear them in the colder months to keep my feet warm as we have wooden floors and tiled floors downstairs.
Apparently a lot of falls (in the home) on stairs are attributed to wearing slippers, but I have always been an adrenaline junky |

I wear avarca sandals that I buy on trips to Mallorca or Menorca. I've basically lived in them since March - around the house, nursery drop off/pick up, to the shops etc. Brilliant comfy things.
Mr wears random socks |

"Might treat myself to a monoslipper now
Got this vision of you hopping about the house now.
A combination of that, and the worm."
Just thinking about you trying to walk while wearing a mono slipper on each foot. |

"I haven’t worn slippers for years, always had a pair from M&S, these days I wear Croc flip flops (not the clog sort) as they are cushioned and my feet appreciate that after a busy day at work
Yes I did say Crocs "
I’ve been thinking of getting some croc clogs for gardening in, they look so comfy! |

I’ve only recently stopped suffering from plantar fasciitis after 2 years of having it
And I own a pair of slippers that are from Next, they’re pale pink, with a heart on the front and have no backs to them.
I very rarely wear them though |

I have several pairs of slippers - cosy fluffy, leopard print, pretty you fluffy diamanté ones but at present I’m in fluffy slipper boots! They keep my feet warm whilst I’m sat at my desk during the day |

I hate slippers with a passion and refuse to wear them, even at the risk of Ranulph Fiennes type toe loss in colder weather.
My dad once got a man at work (!!?)to make the whole family matching slippers ( fake leather moccasins, as you ask).
I'm having flashbacks as I type.

I hollow out the skulls of my enemies and slip them on my feet, as a celebration of my crushing victory over them.
Unless it’s been a quiet week, then I wear my Mahabis’... which are the best slippers in the world. Anyone who disagrees will be worn next week. |

I love slippers. I actually haven’t got any at the moment. I was one of them people who had my feet out the window when my friend was driving and my slipper flew off on the motorway. I’m a size 4 if anyone wants to get me some. |

Slippers are amazing in Winter, but only those with backs.
Not a fan of those with no back because then you're pretty much shuffling along like an OAP with knee problems. |

Same here. Mine are fabulous. Irony is I literally just order led replacement wool insoles this morning - after 6 years. Which for a slipper must be good.
Btw. They go great with my tartan pj bottoms and tight white t shirt. |

Can't stand slippers. I have hot feet anyway. It's either barefoot or flipflops for me all year round. I'll even go outside in barefeet/flipflops in the winter. |

Ahhhh yes, the good old versatile slipper, offering comfort, pleasure and pain.
I have two pairs of slipper for wearing, one pair for when company is around ( pre covid days )
One old comfy tatty pair, ready for the bin I think, I just can't bring myself to do it.
The dog has one he likes to chew..... I really should find out where that came from.....
And last but not least.... I have one for who's ever bottom I think needs to feel the hard side of a slipper.

Every exNational Serviceman will remember the TRUE slippers/sliders - the pile of felt pads just inside the barrack room door. Still wearing boots, they allowed you to skate across the polished floor without scratching it and adding to the shine - woe betide anyone who didn’t use them! |
