I don't understand the need to panic buy, everyone just needs to shop as normal. My local supermarkets have been well stocked and people aren't panic buying, we have lived in an adapted way since march and so our local lockdowns and now full lockdown hasn't affected me in any way.

I don't get the need for panic buying. We all made it through lock down number one without starving. Also this time round kids are in school so will be being fed there which is different to first time round. It's just people losing their heads. Most of the country has been living under some form of restrictions I don't really see why yesterdays annoucement has come as shock. |

People panic but because they're frightened, they have no control over this virus and having their cupboards full gives them a sense of security and control. Humans are hardwired to store against hard times.
We haven't bought much more than we normally do but over the last months we've made sure we have some reserves and that my parents have a good stock of basics. |

Same I've not noticed any panic buying before the Welsh lockdown. And tbh not noticed the supermarkets short of anything |

"I’m going to panic buy the family’s advent calendars. Panic is not the quantity but the 30 days early purchase. Never been this organised. "
I make mine. Except chocolate ones. Although I might go for a Xmas muffin every day. If panic buyers them out.

There will be a lot of scalpers out buying essential goods so they can resell it on ebay for ridiculous amounts of money just like they did when the last lockdown happened and also with any other product is in high demand and short supply |

I had thought we were social animals, interdependent in order to have a society.
Unfortunately it seems that society working together is lost on many. |

Hopefully it will make some supermarket staff actually do some work rather than just stand very close to each other laughing and talking and ignoring customers needing their assistance. |

Yes I read your post about that.
The thing I've noticed during this pandemic is societies capacity for blaming other people, finger pointing and venting fear and frustration on other people.
Everyone selfish, lazy, spreading the virus and not wearing a mask...except me.
At a time like this a huge dose of understanding and compassion is required from everyone. |

My son used to work in a supermarket before he went to university so he thinks I’m harsh too.
