I enjoyed the older ones with Connery and Moore. I must admit though not a fan of the latest ones.
So fair comment even if it was tongue - in - cheek OP. |

Great films and a huge part of my growing up, pretty girls, a villain, guns, humour, great locations, guns, what's not to like.
Still the one film that I eagerly look forward to a new one coming out.
The only downside is that the gadgets seem to have been replaced with tech now (which I get that it mirrors real life) but I want to see the old silly gadgets
Guess it's an age thing
Biggest cheer in the sky fall one was opening the garage and seeing his old aston Martin |

"Especially the earlier films.
What would they show on TV at Christmas without them? ITV would struggle to fill its programming. "

Game of Thrones, it’s crap bloody dragons - yet it’s regarded as one of the best TV series of all time.
Harry Potter, it’s crap children fodder, but millions of books and very well made films with top acting talent.
Drag Race, Strictly, BGT, Eastenders, Coronation Street etc...all have their critics but also a big fan following.
I don’t mind Bond they’re fun and take you away from grey and austerity Britain. With its glamorous locations and pretty people (even Jaws ended up with a pretty blonde) action every 20 minutes, you walk out of the Cinema (In my case) entertained and feeling slightly better about the UK.
As an add on, as a kid I sat in the Cinema watching The Spy Who Loved Me, the scene in which he skis off the side of a cliff, falling slowly to his perceived death only to open a Union Flag brought cheers and applause in the audience. I felt proud to be British at that moment |

I used to enjoy the old ones with Moore. and Connery, don’t think I‘be seen any that were made after the early 90’s.
They were fun , harmless escapism, there were good looking girls in bikinis who’s only job was to look good in a bikini, the good guys won and the baddies left with their tale between their legs.
These days everything has to be so complicated and pc. |
