"Hands up if you are in the midst of monsoon like conditions !!
Woman the pumps ! Girl up the sandbags!"
see compared to what we had in newcastle last thursday nothing can be compared to a monsoon ever again.....
the one thing I have learnt is that if we are going to get a months rain, I'd rather it be over 12 hrs, then over 15 minutes..... |

"Not monsoon proportions here I think we'll miss that
Its well behaved rain at the moment "
Got visions of millions of raindrops saying, "oops, sorry bout that," as they hit your head. |

the only upside to this much rain is having 36 hours free of work to catch up on paperwork and stuff*
*by paperwork I mean perving and looking at rude stuff almost all day |

There are some rather interesting statistics on the BBC today about the wettest June ever on record, including :
England
June 2012 rainfall 142.6mm
June 2007 rainfall 146.0mm
Scotland
June 2012 rainfall 129.4mm
June 1938 rainfall 155.0mm
So how the f. does this make it the wettest June on record?
Interesting also to note that Scotland was nowhere near as rainy as England in the month, nor that it's all time record is that much greater.

No, it's for the total rainfall in the total month. Presumably taken at a number of weather stations around each country. |

We blame Wimbledon.
If it's any consolation Cardiff is humid and mizzly rather than raining but we've got used to it now - we all got webbed feet. Just looking for my snorkle so I can take the dog for a wade. (We used to be able to go for walks!)
Brings a whole new meaning to oggling .... |

"Does anywhere in the country still have a hosepipe ban?"
yes..
dry ish here today, suns out now and quite lovely...sorry wet folks..
twat from the local water company when asked why we are still on a ban said the 3 months of rainhad not topped up their aquifiers and bore holes...
a feckin con to put up the bills next year to 'invest in the infrastructure and prevent any more hosepipe bans'..
like sheite.. |
