I try and keep the humour to the light hearted threads, and leave the serious questions alone. Have to agree though that when you can see somebody is asking a question thats really important to them, the last thing you need is a comedian. |

I used to think that, why can't people keep it on topic.
When they didn't, I though fuck it... it's a sex site for meeting sexually interesting people, not a debating site.

Pious posts like this are irritating drivel and are usually started by someone who cannot see beyond their own needs and wants.
Why do you assume those who see the thread differently, or are in a contrasting mood to you , perhaps sensing tensions or levity and reacting and interacting in a manner that doesn't suit YOU as 'idiots?'
Maybe they don't see the topic as important. Maybe they are seeing the 'fun' as you put it and having the fun.
I'm more interested in why you can't handle it.

one of the things I have learnt is that from the point where you put up a thread... you no longer own it....
does it show the immaturity of people (won't say men, because trying to differentiate yourself in this way by driving over others making yourself look good isn't nice)... it can... and sometimes its funny, or witty...
but it could also show something a petulance that it didn't go your way.. and a self importance that is way above where it should be....

Conversely, does a need to challenge the thinking and behaviour of others expose a level of immaturity born from a lack of understanding of the socail dynamic of recreational interaction……. Eh!

I'm a female idiot who will avoid the subject (occasionally) to add a bit of amusement (lighten it a bit).
I didn't realise it'll piss people off so much. I thought forums weren't full on serious

if you have a problem with the direction of your own threads, i would tend not to post any, because there are VERY few that stay on topic, and even fewer that stay serious.

As the immature male of the Parish ....
I have to say I don't see Threads being hijacked (as such) and the ones I do read up seem to follow the normal twists and turns of good debate. OK some people get personal but c'est la vie and some threads go off at a slight (but relevant) angle.
A couple of years ago there were a bunch of people on here who would descend on almost every Thread and just carry on their own personal conversations and private jokes. Anyone trying to interact was ignored and when the Thread was effectively killed they would 'move on'. Since my return from poor health recently I do not see any of that happening nowadays.
..except for the overt chat up line ... |
