2020 and Lockdown has been hard for us all in so many different ways.
But one positive is a lot of use are learning new skills?
I’ve started, badly but improving, to sew and attempting to make some of my own clothing.
What new skills have you learnt? Would be great to connect with other swingers and share ideas. |

I love sewing and fair play for teaching yourself a really useful skill OP.
I was still at work through lockdown so didn’t manage any new skills but Mr found the time to teach himself chess in between homeschooling and childcare. He is planning to start learning Spanish should we have another lockdown. |

Chess, that’s impressive. I don’t have the tactical mindset for chess.
I too worked through the first lockdown. I went from part time to full time hours. It’s been crazy.
I hope you’re both keeping safe and well and feel free to DM any fabric, sewing or pattern site recommendations. |

There’s a Japanese lady (I think she is Japanese, she doesn’t speak) on YT that teaches wrapping presents in an origami style. The creations are rather stunning (and of course transient, people just tear into the wrapping) which appealed to me.
So I have been teaching myself how to do this (with her help), I have wrapped the same box about 20 times now ( ) but I am getting the hang of it |

Watch The Great British Sewing Bee.
I prefer to visit actual shops because I need to feel the fabric. Also the colours can look different online. |

My cooking skills have got better.
Been doing Skype calls to my friends in Spain and Portugal to practice my spoken Spanish and Portuguese, and Skype calls to relatives in Norway for the same reason.
Play chess with my house mates, to the point where against difficult AI I don't lose instantly.
Rediscovered a love for reading, and finally got the a point where I can loose myself in a book for a few hours straight. |

"Advanced Procrastination
That's something I could do tomorrow
Ive thought about it too."
That’s no.10 on my long list of jobs to do - it’s something I excel at but really must find the time to research how I can improve my technique. |

Same here with the fabric, find it best to go and feel the fabric. We have not got much choice locally any more but I do love a trip to Birmingham rag market. I watched that next in fashion show on Netflix and now have aspirations for a haberdashery like that one day. |

I got into yoga. Never appealed to me before, thought it was a bit poncy, but now I love it and highly reccomend it. It's done wonders for my anxiety and I find it incredibly helpful for my mental health |

Yep, Next in fashion, hosted by Tan France and Alexa Chung. It’s essentially an American version of the sewing bee with a bigger budget. |
