If they were around in their prime today, do you think they would still rule the heavyweight boxing division?

And if they did who do you think would be the champ?

Yeah and I think Tyson is only around 5 foot 10. So short for a heavyweight.

I think I would choose Tyson in a match with Ali. Ali was all about style, technique and movement but he had a poor defence. Tyson was pure aggression and had a more solid defence. Tough call though.

It is a tough call. I found tyson more exciting to watch.

I would pick Tyson over Ali. Tyson was just an unstoppable killer in the ring

Tyson is 5’10 and was trained at his peak by Cus D’Amato a good trainer. Tyson loved bigger and taller boxers as his height is generally seen as a disadvantage for the heavyweight division. Not for Tyson and Cus they used it to their advantage with upper cuts and body blows.

Tyson would’ve been a different type of boxer for Ali, he was used to boxers his size and they were generally slow. Tyson would be able to keep up and surprise his opponent, just equally light on his feet as Ali was.

For me, it’s not an easy to say Ali would win I seriously think Tyson could have beat him or at least draw

He got stopped though and he couldn't stop some men who went the distance with him in his prime. Men who I wouldn't class in the same league as Ali.

Ali did once say if tyson gave him a right hook he would floor him but he also said he wasn't quick enough to even get close

It could go either way but I think if they fought 10 times Ali would win most of them.

However havin said records show that athletes have become stronger and faster over the years, so who's to say that boxers haven't improved as well and maybe they couldn't cut it in the heavyweight boxing scene today.

Beyond the shadows.

I'd say Ali as he'd be the smarter fighter of the two. For Tyson to win he'd have to take Ali down quick but no ones ever managed that as far as I can recall, I think the times Ali's lost the fights went over 9 or 10 rounds.

Unfortunately we’ll never know, I saw Tyson at his peak as a kid as I was a massive boxing fan, although I preferred to watch middle weight fights as there was less hugging and more punching so I’m more biased towards Tyson and how he brought down bigger fighters than himself.

I’d pay a lot of money to watch those two on their prime though

Tyson’s sheer brutality would have worn Ali down. Ali could take a lot of punishment, buts Tyson’s punching force far exceeded aMy other heavyweight of the modern era

Rubbish.

George foreman was Knocking out guys who Ali couldn't and had Frazier down 7 times when he took the title off him.

Ali never put Frazier down in the 3 brutal fights they had together.

Them fights were 15 rounds of constant belting each other with the ref hardly getting involved.

Yet when the undefeated foreman met Ali no one gave Ali a chance.

Some said Ali was too old slow and could be killed by foreman.

But Ali knew how to beat him with skill speed and ring craft.

The world was stunned by Ali's rope a dope on foreman.

He would have done the same to Tyson. Ali would of let Tyson come in and wear him down.

"If they were around in their prime today, do you think they would still rule the heavyweight boxing division?

Hmmm 'depends on which era rules we were using. If Tyson were to fight to 1960s rules he might get tired before a decisive knockout.

If Ali were boxing in the age of the TKO then he wouldn't be able to use rope-a-dope. He would be disqualified for "failing to defend himself"

Even Lennox Lewis had Tyson's number.

Kept him at a distance tied him up on the inside and throw out the jab.

Ali would have done the same just faster and Tyson would lose it like he did with holyfield when up against a superior fighter.
