You're gonna groan at this one...... but it's Hank Marvins guitar solo at the start of.... Move it! Prefer that to Chuck Berry on Johnny B Goode. Have an interesting anecdote about Mr Berry and what he said to a competition winner who went to meet him backstage......
And, if you class it as an 'intro', the first 2:30 of The Chain by Fleetwood Mac as a lead up to the last bit which is the title music to........ Oh come on! All together now.......

Requiem for a Dream completely grips me. Absolutely incredible song.
Another one though it's simple to play is the start of Oasis' Slide Away. Hair always stand on the back of my neck with that song. Brings back a lot of memories. |

hmm this was a tuffy but ive decided that trivium - down from the sky has an awesome intro but its got be metallica - one :D most amazing intro of all time! |

I think the intro of Faint by Linkin Park is a good build up, as is the one to their No More Sorrow track.
Machinehead have a lot of good intros though. And they've accomplished it again with latest track Locust. |
