How do you cope with abuse on Fab?
Usually I can just shake it off but today it’s really got to me.
What happens to these low lives when they are reported to Admin?

I normally tell them i just fucked there mum up the cemetery seems to wind them up as i laugh at the fallout  |

I have been recieving abuse on and off from the same guy for the past two years, he always deletes and creates new profiles, I have newbies and non verified blocked which kind of works until he is no longer a newbie and gets verified.
His messages are vile and creepy but I just ignore him, he can only affect me if I let him |

Blocking just allows them to move on to someone else so i usually report the message too. They usually get removed for a while so hopefully this will give them time to dwell on what they done and think twice when the return. |

I usually delete and block. If really bad I’ll report, but wish I knew the outcome. If I’m really peeved off I’ll retaliate |

Good question!
Apparently they are warned but I know people who have all been abused by the same person and they are still doing it. |

Op it’s just words from a keyboard warrior with a spotty face and a spotty bottom and no social skills that is looking to garner a reaction from you so just starve them of what they want and block them and forget them.

People who feel the need to belittle/ bully others are insecure and they try and make themselves feel better byt doing so - only that is shortlived because it does not really make the bully feel better in the long term, just isolates them. Of course this is not tobe confused with having a different opinion on a particular topic. But if somebody needs to get personal... that is not ok.
My advice: Do not try to change a bully's attitude towards you; it is time consuming and comes at a cost to yourself. Instead change your mindset and focus on the nicer people, the majority on here are decent folkls looking for a bit of fun and company.

I get a lot of shit and I just block now. It's hard when it hits a nerve or when it's a unkind comment about my body, but I just have to figure they're butt hurt in some way to stoop so low as to insult a stranger online.

OP I have been incredibly lucky not to have had any abuse on here.
If I did I would report and block.
They are the ones with problem, not you.
Hope you are soon feeling better, nastiness can be incredibly hurtful, even when you don't know them. |

It’s a strange one OP I don’t feel there is a correct text book way to deal with vermin. Personally I’m proud to state I retaliate with intellectually scathing put downs. I feel each person can deal with trash however they deem fit. I always respond then block. Frankly I’m not here to be abused whether I’ve rejected someone politely and he can’t take no or I’ve stopped responding to a weirdo. I find insecure pathetic people resort to indulging in abusing or using racist slurs.
A guy I’d ignored pretty much told me I’m a short fatso lol (perhaps true) that I’m black erm no I retaliated like a cobra then reported and blocked his lame ass. |

Agree 100%. I never report either. They only create a new account anyway They're definitely messed up and let themselves down so badly. Just ignore the sad little trolls. |

I get back however it often isn't as simple at that. I think the issue is as with any virtual interaction some people forget there are real people at the end of the comments. |

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.
******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).
Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.
Admin
PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.
Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.
