My fave was cheese and onion flan, everyone else hated it so I ended up with loads. I was lucky all our dinners were made from scratch.

"Iced sponge with pink custard "

We used to have a chocolate brownie with pink custard which was amazing.

Did anyone also used to have these gooey crispy cakes shaped like a triangle? Loved those!

I always hated the meals we were given at school, they really were awful.

When I was about 18 my Dad remarried to a woman who had worked in my primary school kitchen. She told me all about how the Head Cook and her assistant had a nice little earner selling on the supplies of ingredients and replacing them with very cheap low quality alternatives, obviously pocketing the difference!

Mrs Crisp's crisps (dinner lady and game chips).

She always made loads so we could go back for more.
