Best pink Floyd Album

Personally I’d pick Pulse.
Not sure if the regular version is the same but I got the cardboard sleeved one with the pulsing LED, was 2 disks, the first being the album and the second a live album with all the usual classics on |

"Dark Side of the moon - still being acknowledged almost 50 years on. And especially the Great Gig in the Sky... still wows me everytime. "

Dark side of the moon.
It's the first album from Pink Floyd that I had the pleasure to listen to...still remember the first time I played the CD on my old Sony reader...it blew my 13 years old mind. |

DSOTM
Floyd aren't even my favourite band but the musical suite of Time, Breathe (Reprise) & Great Gig in the Sky might just be the greatest piece of music ever recorded. |

I can't decide. If you chose one, the others are in the cold and I can't do that. There are moments of genuine beauty in all of these that hit me depending on my mood. I listen to, as was said before 'great gig in the sky' and think it's not going to get better than that, then listen to 'on the turning away' and think maybe that's the peak or 'Crazy Diamond' and those longing 4 notes that kick in after the extended intro. So, in no particular order...
Dark Side of the moon
Wish you were here
Momentary lapse of Reason
Delicate sound of Thunder
Division Bell
Pulse
All equally stunning |

Most before the final cut, post waters Floyd just doesn't have the bite (or the lyrics) apart from a couple of tracks sorrow being one of them.
Wish you were here is excellent, as is the wall and animals.
I always have a soft spot for atom heart mother too.
The moment Polly stepped in for the lyrics the Floyd we all grew to love was instantly more commercial, less bite and just isn't anywhere near the 'Floyd sound' that drew us in so many years ago.
I've listened to endless river once.....all waters solo material is constantly at hand, if it wasn't for him the true Floyd sound would have been lost years ago (post the final cut).
Love Floyd debates, been a fan since i was 8 - I'm 49 this year

I grew up listening to the wall and dark side of the moon. They are the only albums I’ve listened too, strange considering my dad is a huge Pink Floyd fan. Took him to see Roger Waters do the wall in Manchester a few years ago that was awesome then took him twice to see tribute band Australian Pink Floyd. I have to say they are absolutely amazing they sound just like them and put on an amazing light show too |

The Wall is their best album by miles, it has the most classic Floyd songs on it.
They've got what I'd call 10 decent albums with The Final Cut being their most underrated. (Yes Roger Waters is their most talented member)
1 The Wall
2 Dark Side of the Moon
3 Wish You Were Here
4 The Final Cut
5 Animals
6 Meddle
7 The Division Bell
8 Piper at the Gates of Dawn
9 Atom Heart Mother
10 Obscured By Clouds

Waters was the main lyricist though wasnt he with the biting sarcasm?
I dont like momentary but I think the division bell has some great songs on there.
Same age..pink floyd were massive in liverpool in the 80s. |

Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, The Final Cut.
Anything where Waters shines.
Seen him a few times in concert, seeing The Wall (2011 tour not the original) was an joyous emotional experience. |

"Darkside of the moon for us. If you could remove the track money it'd be perfect."
That is actually the most perfect thing I've ever read!!
That song ruins the flow of the album!!! |
