I’m all for a well written profile. It doesn’t have to be particularly creative, as long as it gives an impression of who you are and a little of what you’re about.
But what do you read on a profile that is sure to grind your gears, pull a sad face and make your ears go floppy?
For me it’s anyone that mentions “Sydney university” on their profile.   |

We like, witty, non sexual profiles. No interest in dick pics. Arty photos are good. And an age range that isnt from 18-99.

But some would say that is exactly why their profiles are long. Takes less than five minutes to read & digest even a long profile. What that profile does is clear some of the mundane one line question an answer message scenarios.
Before we blocked guys we would get half a dozen messages a day at least saying “So what are you after”. Before it got to the group blocking stage H would reply “Someone that can read would be a good start”.
Harsh maybe, but to the point I think.

There's not much that really puts me off but if I had to say one thing, probably negativity, unless it's negativity in the sense that it's cheekily thrashing cringey behaviour from men on Fab (e.g. dick pics). Most profiles I feel aren't poorly worded that way, but when they are, some of that negativity takes the form of several paragraphs of uninterrupted, angrily worded threats or warnings.
My reaction is always "alright, alright, message received right out the gate" and then I just move on.

Of course not, but then neither do we want to have a short profile not giving much info & then expect the smallest & “Most Wanted” section of Fab to message us to find out what we want & neither would we expect anyone else to if we were still meeting them.
It’s very quick to read just the wants & preferences on a profile, you only have to read the rest if you fit the wants, if you don’t & still read it you are only wasting your own time are you not?
