Warnings at bottom of profiles.

I've been on FS & FG for over 6 years and I continuously see profiles with the cut and paste warnings.

But has anyone ever found that Sydney university, or any other educational body, has used material from profiles; or if Facebook has liberally spread your details across the internet?

I'm intrigued why it gets perpetuated.

Sheep mentality.

Fab asks you not to put on such statements as its nonsense and uses server space.

The biggest risk is people stealing photos and videos and uploading to PH, happen to lots of people lately.

Yes that's happened to me, reported to admin and profile removed. But the whole Sydney thing is so tired now. I'm suprised Admin don't ask more frequently to have it removed by the author.

Under the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to find out what information the government and other organisations store about you and fines are quite high if an individual says that their data used without consent. Therefore I don’t think there is any university or organisation use your sexy details in their research

I can’t say the same thing for the individuals tho, they steal and they use for their own sick catfish minds

Jim...the warning should be at the begining of your lengthy profile...

As the FAQ page states, it's "pointless nonsense".

"We've noticed a legal disclaimer paragraph that some people have on their profiles. Should we have one too? What are they about? Do they do any good?

The "legal disclaimer" is pointless nonsense and all does is take up extra space on our servers. Please remove it if you have it on your profile. If you're worried about privacy please set your account to be hidden from non-registered users on your privacy page (this also hides it from search engines but may take a week or two to drop out of search) and remove the notice (and encourage others to do likewise).

Common sense advice would be NOT to put any information on your profile (here, or on any such site) that could identify you or that you don't want to become public! So for your own benefit, don't post phone numbers, real names or email / instant message addresses on your profile that people might see or "Google".

Some people may put non-identifying pics on their public profile but keep face pics private or for friends, for example."

I googled sydney university a few years ago with relation to fab, it was my first time on here and I wanted to know what it was about.

I found something that said someone put it up as an experiment just to prove the herd mentality. I guess they proved their point!

I'm studying distance learning at Sydney

I'm looking for volunteers for my dissertation: it's a comparison between pegging and real cock. It's quite scientific but all you really have to do is give me a hard fucking?

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

And "Facebook is a publicly traded entity"

This site isn't fucking Facebook!

Even if it where, their T's and C's are already on their site, so posting this shite can't alter them, as people already agree by using that platform!!!!!

I despair. It actually makes a bio look a bit silly. (but doesn't detract from hot photos!).

Haha yeah, agreed. That's the one that always really gets me, people who don't even change the site name. Although plenty change it to "FabSwingers is a publicly traded entity", so they've read it, changed it, and still not thought 'wait, that doesn't make sense'...

Still, it's a good filter method I guess!

Around here

Yes, this "legal warning" is pure worthless BS as far as its legal impact goes.

Still, it's quite useful - for something entirely else.

What this silly "warning" in fact DOES say (unwittingly) is:

"let it be know that I / we are sheep".

When I first joined in a couple I saw it all over the place so did it too, but it didn't take me long to read site facts and see it is a bunch of nonesense.

If someone wants to steal your photos, nothing will stop them

I dont think it stands legally anyway. Unless your photos have copyrights. It's in the public domain therefore can be used, if I have the correct understanding.

Its how newspapers can take posts from media platforms and use them for an article without the posters consent.

It doesn't. If it came to it, the laws around things like copyright and the site's own T&Cs that you agree to when you join would be what count. Even if it made sense (half are direct copy & pastes that name an entirely different site) it would have no weight. Its just nonsense text. You miight as well fill your profile with lorem ipsum. It's just as meaningful.

I've never understood why anyone would be bothered?

If I don't care who looks at me 2 miles away then why should I be concerned with a Sydney University student.

I lived in the country for 10yrs and I still don't think they'll recognise me enough to tell my mum.

Just incase though please tell her that yes that is clean underwear I've got on in my pics...
