So shall we just give you the answers you want ?
I think there’s a few of us left who have seen and read it all by now - so just use this as a point of reference.
Yes, there’s a clique. Only it’s not really a clique, it’s just fully grown adults who post to others because they know them better than a newbie.
Yes, women get more positive replies than men - go figure.
Yes, there’s favouritism - this is not a shock.
Yes, there is peacocking - it’s a site with naked people vying for attention ( generic, don’t all rush to correct me)
Get my drift ?

I get what you are saying, It’s just people who are familiar with each other being familiar with each other and the pub analogy. The clique aspect of it only comes in to play when it’s to the deliberate exclusion of others, this isn’t widespread but it does happen.
To use your pub analogy it would be like someone at the bar saying too a group of people ‘ hello’ and they just turn around as if they have heard nothing. |

Doesn't the peacocking by definition, get on the nerves of those intended and show as a major character flaw. If, like some on here, you are constantly preening and highlighting your best features for a not so subtle "look at me" stance, I would have thought it would turn people off. It may work for a while, but it's short term? Your thoughts OP? |

Aside from the fact it states in the FAQs (that *most* people think they don't need to read) clearly stating that no reply isn't rude, think about it a little deeper.
How do you know that person you're accusing of being up their own arse hasn't just used the last of their energy logging in to speak to existing friends or read a daft forum thread? How do you know they've not been sobbing all day and needed a distraction ON THEIR OWN TERMS?
You don't, you simply ASSUME they're a stuck up bitch because it's easier on your ego than humility and rejection. |
