I can only imagine youre either sexually atteacted to Demi Moore, or those old fashioned plopping glass demijons that your mam and dad used to ferment wine in back in the 70s and 80s

I had to google it too!

It means.....Demisexuality is a sexual orientation where people only experience sexual attraction to folks that they have close emotional connections with.

In other words, demisexual people only experience sexual attraction after an emotional bond has formed.

A demisexual person is someone who does not experience sexual attraction to another person unless or until they have formed an emotional connection with that person. (edit: and also possibly just an Intellectual connection) It's more commonly seen in, but by no means confined, to romantic relationships. The term demisexual comes from the orientation being "halfway between" sexual and asexual. Nevertheless, this term does not mean that demisexuals have an incomplete or half-sexuality, nor does it mean that sexual attraction without emotional connection is required for a complete sexuality.

When describing demisexuality as an orientation to sexuals, it is often mistaken as an admirable choice rather than an innate orientation. Demisexuals are not choosing to abstain; they simply lack sexual attraction until a close, emotional, relationship is formed. And an emotionaly bonded situatuation is often first an Intellectual bond.

For me it’s not an emotional connection....simply a connection of sorts. I’m not attracted to a physicality...I appreciate a good body but I need something more to be sexually aroused!

I just thought I was odd! I came a cross it in my studies and it all made sense! Sometimes it’s a few words, something that just strikes a chord... a look, there just simply some type of connectivity.

'demisexual' must be commonplace now.

Just like 'gender-neutral' is, lol.

Whatever that means? ha, ha.

Or simply people have a way that their sexuality can be understood?

I think it's a common place as anyone it describes. I only heard it very recently but it sums me up pretty well although I'm generally not one for labels some people need/want them. Each to their own.

That's one to remember for the next game of scrabble.

Get that on a triple word score and I'm home and dry!

Well I have to say that’s the nicest ‘long word’ meaning that’s been discussed on the forum

And I can really see the point of it

Especially if she has a nice bum and gorgeous legs....

I'd say it applies to virtually everyone to a certain degree in a one on one situation - if only at a base level so that your reassured that they're not a complete psychopath and you're not going to end up chained to a radiator in a cellar or chopped up in a freezer
