Udain Bolt can run at twenty seven miles per hour, doesn't mean he can do it for twenty six miles

They run at 45 mph but only run for about 3 or 4 miles at a time, then have a break for several hours. On that basis it would take them a long time to complete a marathon.

I think you’ll find that a runner dressed as an ostrich has run the fastest fancy dressed time

So they'd be better for relay racing I'm thinking

Yeah, but a proper ostrich costume has the person facing backwards so the knees are the right way around.

I don't fancy running 26 miles backwards!

Ostriches aren't allowed in an 'egg and spoon "race ..

Their eggs deemed to give them an unfair advantage..

Government rules and regulations gone mad.......... probably

Personally I wouldn't put too much faith in an ostrich. They are also very unreliable, are prone to taking days of sick, not really committed to anything and contrary to popular belief...they don't taste like chicken.

They have a lot of difficulty exchanging the baton.
