I'm trying to fathom out what the norm is nowadays, I have found since lockdown started I have d*unk during the week when before I just didn't bother, has your alcohol intake gone up recently and how often do you find yourself with a alcoholic drink in your hand instead of a horlicks? |

I'm not really interested in drinking. I've maybe had a few glasses since lockdown first started back at the beginning of the year. It doesn't interest me too much and thank god for that because I already consume way too many calories. |

"I'm not normal. I've had nothing alcoholic since New Year.
Wow that's really good, did anything spur you on to do that or have you just not fancied it?"
I've never been a big drinker and I have no need for it |

Pretty much the same as you. Booze nights used to be Thursday to Sunday, but since March I've had at least one beer most nights, just for something to do . This week I'm abstaining until at least Thursday. |

Haha I turned to the smokes and the drink in the peak of lockdown, definitely knocked it on the head now, but as the weather was good I sat outside with a G and T and a smoke to keep me out the house. |

"Not changed since June. I have 1 glass of wine or a bottle of cider of a night "
Yep and I don't see that as excessive drinking, my mother on the other hand begs to differ...but she doesn't drink so one a week to her would mean I'm an alcoholic harlot |

Have a glass of cold Guinness with my dinner every night, that’s just normal for me. Very rarely drink other than that, well, except weddings, funerals, birthday parties and other social get togethers |

"I (Luke) just don't drink alcohol. I've never liked the stuff.
Hannah has the occasional cocktail if we're out. Since we're out less I'd say her consumption has gone down. "
More of a social situation drinker then...wish I didn't like alcohol |

I switched to tobacco as I couldn't get up to town to get the knock off cigs that's helped as I can't stand the smell, I fully intend on quitting when half term is over. Just got to find another habit to replace it with lol |

I’m not really a drinker tbh
I always have a bottle of baileys for present wrapping on Christmas Eve
Might have a rum and sometimes but then the bottle of rums been in the fridge since April and only had two out of it

I just have the 10 beers from Beers52 delivered each month and then occasionally grab a small pack, or nip to the local with a mate.
So about 16 beers a month. Not much really, and it's not really changed from pre lockdown. |

"My alcohol consumption was well below average before all this and is even lower now.
I mostly drink alcohol when watching bands in pubs... not done that since March. "
I so miss watching bands
Seen a few online performances, but it's just not the same. |

Definitely not the same.
Though I don't miss it as much as my hubby misses being the one performing. |

I bet. I've got a few mates in bands and it's driving them crazy, especially the ones who do it for a living and have been told to look at 'retraining' |

A lot lot lower than normal. I’m going out a lot less than I normally would and I make a point of not drinking at home- just a personal choice. Whereas before I would be out for dinner with friends or colleagues 2/3 times a week, now it’s maybe once a week if that.
I’m spending more time with friends in their home so rather than mess about with public transport, I’m just as happy driving, sitting in my joggers all evening drinking tea. Occasionally, we will have a few Proseccos and I’ll stay over, that is usually just a Saturday think though. |

We had some cocktails on our weekend trip and shared a bottle of wine sometime in August. Before that, we last drank at the office Christmas party. We don't normally drink alcohol, just never have the occasion and I'm always driving if we do go out (pre Covid era). After work drinks on a Friday involved me drinking coffee |

"If I have anything, I will generally slowly get through it, but I can go months without any at all."
I'm the opposite, for my 40th I had a party...a few years back now, got loads of booze and obviously had some left over. It was like a personal challenge to drink it to get rid, then I didn't drink for a year, then lockdown has me drinking more often than I like. |

Was expecting it to go up,but too be honest, seemed little point in drinking at home, just to have a drink.Pubs opened again and yes did drink more, but only in catching up with friends. Luckily pubs are still open here ,but guessing weight will be gained,if we have to have a 'substantial meal with drinks' |

I Don't drink alcohol but l can only imagine that with a 6 week lockdown here in lreland from tonight that maybe those that do drink may increase their consumption. |

Just a few beers and jack with every now and then
Don’t like being d*unk
I like to relax and enjoy
Every one deserves to enjoy that especially after a hard week in work |

I've stopped going out regularly, I used to go out and drink at least once a week. I did go to the dogs last night though and had a few pints but my alcohol intake has lessened quite a bit. The best thing is I'm not missing it. |

At the start Drank more. Ordered more Craft beer to support Craft brewers.
But now switched to non alcoholic cocktails during the week (Three Spirits). Don't want overall consumption to go up. |

Zero and has been for over a year. I've only d*unk the odd glass of wine at a weekend and just stopped completely when finances had to be reviewed. Don't miss it at all. Also have neices and nephews and want to set a good example. |

I normally had a small glass of wine with dinner, maybe the odd whisky or rum on a Friday eve. Definately having more maybe 2 medium glasses, and spirits twice a week. Either that, or wine bottles are getting smaller!
Now I'm back to work part time, will be having less. |

Initially I started drinking more.
I have cut right back now probably 1 or 2 bottles of wine a month. I think at first it was a bit more fun as I didn’t need to go to work, but I still have to work from home. |

My drinking has cut down dramatically since the initial lockdown and I do other things now.
Don't go in bars much now the atmosphere isn't the same and I never was one for drinking at home. |

Last time I had a drink was when a customer at work bought me a Malibu & in March.
Never been much of a drinker, part of the reason is that I've seen what excessive drinking has done to people I know. Never smoked either.

At the start of lockdown probably had a beer a 5 in evening whilst making dinner then a glass of wine at 8.. every night during the week. Now just a few beers or wine at the weekend occasionally a vodka.. perhaps a visit to the pub fir a couple .. |

Mines the same. Love a couple of beers on Friday evening after work. Then on special occasions share a bottle of red with dinner, but thats not very often at all.
Alcohol does not help with keeping fit and inshape!!!! Although i think ive got a good balance. |

I'm a ex cocktail bartender so I've all ways bordered the line to high functioning alcoholism acording to my American friends ...
Jokes aside (I don't have any friends ) as this lockdown goes on I've calmed down to maybe a bottle of spirits every month instead of a bottle every couple to 3 weeks. |

I am not much of a drinker at all - never really been into it
Maybe a bottle of beer on my birthday and the odd other occassion
I did worry that lock down would persuade me to drink more though i have been told about the dangers of drinking alone, esp if never been properly d*unk
It was often on my to do list but the longer i avoid it the longer i have to stick around
