I was admiring a new BMW 1.8 motorcycle today that looks like it wants to be in the same class as a Harley, it was cool. But then a DBS superlegera pulled in and I ditched the bike to look at something I might actually get a go in

Haha there she.. wondered if youd pop up lol

Heres some top car knowledge for you..

My corsa is known for pretty bad body roll in the corners due to a high centre of gravity.. so to get a faster time out of the bends ive been playing around with the idea of giving it a wider body with wheel arches and spacers behind the wheels.. the thinking behind it is if i lower it by an inch or so, and spread the centre of gravity while stiffening the springs it should help reduce the body roll.. and as the corsa is already fairly narrow anyway it shouldnt impair the turn-in response for having a wider body in relation to the length of the front and rear wheelbase.. thus allowing for faster speed through the corners and bends.. adjusting the toe and camber can help eliminate a reduced turn-in response if done correctly with some tweaking. Plus itll help reduce transitional body roll through successive corners which can result in unwanted transitional oversteer.. even for a front wheel drive car

Yeah confirmed car nerd here hahaha

Yeah the current gen MkIV Mégane RS, the Trophy 300 matched the Civic Type R. But the Mégane Trophy -R thrashed both by over 5 seconds. Granted that's the full £75k variant with stripped out rear seats, carbon wheels etc

265 is a brilliant all rounder. Plenty of lift off oversteer when you wanted it. You can't go to a trackday without seeing at least one there. And Renault Sport host their own trackdays for RS owners to take part in. It's such a brilliant community!

But this newer 300 has the legs on the 265. You've got the power hike obviously but the engines now a 1.8t not 2.0 Just seems easier and more eager to rev and spool. Nicer noise too. Same box and diff as the MK3, but now has 4 wheel steer. Takes some getting used to and even though not as "Pure" as the MK3, in the right hands it's an absolute weapon.

Yeah thats why the old man went for the 265.. wanted something.more livable than track ready. Hes always driven renaults so hes been sticking with them since the 90s. Me i just prefer whats fun and looks good, my corsa d has its issues but honestly i wouldnt trade it for anything.. snappy and responsive and just grips where most have to livelft off.. provided you can still hold on without the body roll ejecting you from your seat lmao

I heard that megane -r had some serious tech for it but i just ignore most french cars hahah didnt realise it was that well equipped.. my old man is always banging on about them though. Ironic though that hes not attempted to get into the RS owners club despite being a renault fan

Must be getting more mature my latest motor is the KX3 sat nav AWD, can't forget the AWD love it farm tracks are a breeze, just pop it in 4x4 and 2nd gear and it cruises along in tick-over.

Have been thinking of getting another bike, just a 125 on-off roader for some green lane fun.

I cant see the appeal to the mk1 tbh, im a big fuss when it comes to body lines and shapes and the mk1 just doesnt do it for me..

Now the mk2 has it all for me, just phat in all the right places i also realise ive been saying mk3 instead of mk2 *facepalm*.. the mk3 ZS is nice and that front end on the rs does look nicer than the mk2.. but you just cant beat that booty on the mk2 lol

I like a modified escort but its insanely difficult to get a good look for it, otherwise its body just ahouldnt be touched

Local town has one each year for custom and american cars. Has bands playing and stalls/food. Yep, missing that.

For the record, I've owned a Ford Capri 2.8i, Porsche 944, Escort 1.8si. All different all good fun. Dream car is an Aston Martin Vantage v12 manual.

If you are talking raw power on the road from a everyday drive they pretty much closed the book after the Lotus Carlton everything that came after that is just dressing and electronic aids

Still a few about doubt they get on the road much though.

At one time it was advised to take any Lotus badges off them and replace with standard Vauxhall badges.

Luckily ive only been stopped once but that was for a genuine reason.. both headlights went out at the same time so i had to use my spotlights and they just let me off wth a slap on the wrist. These youngsters are far too reckless and irresponsible it ruins it for the rest of us

I sound like an old man lol im only 28! Then again i drive a stage 2 vxr yet youll see me cruising down the road at 25mph
