Oh we're undoubtedly fucked unless all of the dinosaurs in governments and corporations, everyone everywhere in fact, pulls their collective heads out of their asses. Invest in renewable and nuclear energy, bite the bullet on removing fossil fuels completely, stop allowing companies to get away with not paying taxes, reduce defence spending and increase public health and education. Plant trees for God sake! *Actually* stop the Amazon deforestation... ad nauseum. |

Know one who is alive now will be able to say weather mankind will be alive in 500 years chances are not this planet lasted well before we supposedly evolved people talk of aliens were the ones who are aliens here I don’t believe for one minute we evolved from ape to man this is a living and breathing planet only so much she will take from mankind before earth as we know it will retaliate with her wrath may not happen in our lifetime but it will happen look at history passed when dinosaurs were wiped out same will happen to mankind eventually all mankind is interested in is power greed taking lives the biggest killer on this planet is mankind |

I suspect so. Maybe not in so greater numbers. The question more for me is will we adapt to survive more in line with nature smoothly or will changes be painfully forced upon us by the planet and the fall out of our unsustainable ways?
Of course there always a reasonable chance we may blow ourselves up. Nuclear weapons ain't going away. If you look at the numbers near misses we've in the short existence of these weapons (many not widely know) the odds are low but still way more than comfortable. |

"I imagine by that time humans would have fully merged with AI and while there will be a human race the numbers will have decreased a great deal. "
Merged with AI. You mean we have to shag the computers. |

If man is... Or isn't alive in the year 2525 I personally couldn't give a fuck cos IF I get to 94-96 which is when I've booked my flight out that gets me to 2070. 445 years past my bedtime.
Anything after that.... Your on you own. |

When you get chance, take a look at the graph showing mankind's population and activity from 100,000 years ago until now.
Up until the early 1600's it was a flat line.
From about 1850, it starts to get nearly vertical.
And there lies our problem.

And that point is exactly why we've got the problem |
